History will be made in the Sprint Unlimited race on Saturday. Can you guess what the historic event is and why it is significant? Hint it has to do with a man's word being his bond
"Can you guess what the historic event is and why it is occurring for the first time this year."

The dog with the human face is in it and is favored to win. That's my guess
The 35th running of the Sprint Unlimited (Busch Clash/Bud Shootout) will see the addition of the 43 car for just the third time ever. Due to a promise to his mom that the 43 will never carry an alcohol decal the car has been ineligible for the event in years past. Only running in 1980 when the requirement was loosen and in 2009 when it was awarded the starting spot of the defunct #10 car after the merger of Gilette/Everham and Petty Enterprises. The 9,19 and 10 G/E cars had won poles the previous year. When the 10 was eliminated in the merger the spot went to the 43, even though it still did not carry the Bud decal. Even though the 43 had won several poles between 1979 and 2012 it chose not to carry the decal and was listed as ineligible on the event page. The King chose to honor his promise to his mother instead of collecting the extra money and sponsor exposure that the Unlimited/Clash/Shootout would bring.
