Had I watched from the beginning I probably would have turned it off. But I came in on the second half and had just enough patience to leave it on.

After the last game and with a sick 8 month old, I decided not to watch this one at all. I wish I would have.
There hasn't been too much to celebrate this year, and Lester's been one silver lining, but what about the emergence of Rashawn Rembert? We've all been clamoring for a bona fide sharpshooter, and I think we've found one in Rashawn. He is torching the nets at a 51% (3-pt) clip in conference, and a respectable 42% overall! If he can add another reliable element to his game in the offseason--maybe like the Goudelock floater--he'll develop into a terrific two-guard.
Rembert has looked good lately. That was a huge shot from him today when all we needed was a 2.
I was totally amazed at the game's ending. Of course I could not be happier. The game tells me our Bucs DO have talent. Reshawn, Lester, Jarvo, John, Hunter, KGG, and company could be a much better team with an more coherent system. March is not out of the question with this league but it will be tough to win three.
You know what happens when you think the Bucs are hopelessly behind? They win. I think it's fair to say if you keep having to make comebacks....it will comeback to bite you in the butt. What would be nice is for the Bucs to comfortably win three in the conference tournament. Would I bet on that? Not in a million years. What I do hope for is for these young Bucs to become reliable in the clutch....to the point they don't have to make humongous comebacks.

Bucs just have to become consistent. We all know the odds for a big comeback are very low. When you keep doing it, you will lose.

Stetson's coach didn't seem to take any responsibility for losing a game when they are up 20 with 12-minutes to go. Why didn't he slow the thing down? It's like they rolled over and played dead. I'm glad they did but I'm shocked by his reaction.
Congrats on your big win guys!

I'm not impressed by Stetson under Casey Alexander. His team collapsed badly down the stretch last year. Although this year's version is much improved, they are now on a 1-4 streak in conference. His good players are mostly holdovers from Derek Waugh.

Of all the ETSU basketball games I've seen in my life, this comeback has to rank among the most improbable of all-time. As Stetson's coach said in the post-game interview, it was probably about equal parts ETSU's good play and Stetson's bad play.
Very near the middle of the second half, I had already decided to say that ETSU, despite losing, played a much better second half than first (duh). Boy, when "Big Mo" decides to swing sometimes, it swings big, huh?

For the life of me, I can't understand why bartow won't let Wagers run the press more. Yes, we're thin, but did we look tired at the end of the game? I didn't think so, in the least. We *always* play better when we press and play uptempo, even with this team, that for some reason bartow thinks can't do that. Even the Stetson announcers were saying how ETSU wants to keep it slow and low-scoring. No, we can't run with VCU, but I think we can run with about every team in the ASun, with the possible exception of FGCU, when they're playing their normal game. Ok, and maybe not Mercer. But we dang sure can't play the half-court game very well; I think virtually every person who's watched one half of this team play knows that. Let the guys play! Yes, they should have discipline, too, and the two *are not* mutually exclusive!

I guess forget my comments after last game about how Rembert can't shoot well except out of the corner. He had some nice elbow area shots in this game. I knew that last, game-winning shot was going in, and of course he did, too. He had a solid game all-around.

I didn't hear anything about Yunio. Still sick, I guess?

Stetson did *not* play as badly in the second half as we often do when we're self-destructing. They self-destructed, yes, but their shot choices, although dumb because they didn't use any clock, were not, for the most part, poor choices. They didn't really adopt the murry passion for taking one's foot off the gas, but they began playing not to lose, rather than to win (always a bad thing).

Hunter and Walton both had pretty decent games inside, the caveat to that being that Stetson didn't have enough presence inside to really dominate.

Once again, we shot less than 50% at the FT line.
Stetson, unbelievably, scored even fewer points in the second half than we did in the first; that despite building that 20-pt. lead.

A truly stunning turnaround win. A crazy game. It would have been even nicer, however, if ultimately, in the context of the whole season, if it had more meaning.

I have wondered that myself (the italicized portion of your statement) and have audibly expressed this consistently during his tenure. It's especially perplexing giving the type of player that Bartow recruits. His tendency has been to err on the side of athleticism versus skill. These two, of course, are not mutually exclusive, but at the mid-major level, coaches have to decide what they're going to compromise. For me, I like the undersized (in terms of height) but athletic/physical post players like Fields, Wadood, Sneed, etc. versus the 7-footers who are always 2 years away from being 2 years away from being ready.

For me, I don't think that Bartow wants to commit to an identify for his team. I once heard Wagers remark that Bartow doesn't like the inevitable easy buckets that pressing produces. It's as if Bartow won't take the good with the bad (in a pressing style of play) and consequently forces players to play outside of their strengths. Prior to the start of the season, for example, Bartow was raving about Lester's baseline to baseline speed. Why not, run, then?

It is a unique look. But there are plenty of seats for the "crowds" Stetson draws.

From a fan perspective...those wide aisles are great...easy in, easy out....helps the concessions business. If they were packed on a regular basis....I'm sure those aisles would turn into seats! Tiny aisles and seats smashed up against each other make the dome difficult to maneuver in. Fastest way is to go into the main corridor...then back into the event area. During football...if you wanted to visit with some one on the west side and you were sitting in the east....you had to go outside and all the way around! No fun if it's raining!
