NIU 2.5 underdogs versus BG. NIU will win this game. Nader and Bolin with a double double.
Nader yes, Bolin no. Bolin is not a reliable scorer and this year doesn't seem to be a beast on the boards. Bolin is capable, but doesn't always show up. He should be a 10pt a game guy. I know the coaches want him to shoot more. This is a must win. Players and coaches must bring their A game, if they have one!
Ill take the huskies by a few at home
Bowling Green is not very good....they are winless on the road, but do have 3 MAC wins. And they've beaten NIU 6 times in a row. They've lost a lot of close, low scoring games....sigh. This one might remind us of NIU-EMU....

The Falcons get almost all their scoring from two guys, Jordan Crawford and A'uston Calhoun (2nd highest scoring MAC duo; Calhoun is also a good rebounder). Those guys almost never come off the floor. Crawford handles the ball okay, but the Falcons don't exactly share the wealth, which also means they don't turn it over much. This sets up like the Toledo game for NIU, if they can slow down the two guys that can score, they can win. However, Chauncey Orr has played well lately, so he's another player to look out for.

Richaun Holmes is a blocking beast (Holmes has more blocks than four MAC teams) and BGSU has some decent height and play inside-out on offense, the post D is going to be key. I wouldn't be surprised if they go zone (a la EMU) and dare NIU to shoot from distance. BGSU has won 4 games when they shoot under 40%, so they can play some D (and have played bad teams). Anthony Henderson is also a good player, though not flashy.

Bowling Green is 6-1 when outrebounding its opponent, which means they don't win the rebounding war often. So, yeah, rebound. NIU is capable of winning this battle and the game.

Cravatta and Balls have played better lately, hopefully that continues. Bolin had a nice game last time out. Nader obviously has played better lately too; I'm hoping the offense has a better plan than just "give it to Nader, hope he figures it out."

The MAC will probably host the game, the link isn't up yet, but they've had most if not all the games lately. I feel an ugly low scoring game coming up, and I don't know who'll win, but NIU should.

As a student and person who isn't exactly affluent in basketball there is nothing better than seeing Nader or the like drive to the basket and kick it to cravatta to swish it home. Alas, they need to actually finish at the basket more, but even MM has admitted to being a perimeter team...which...I don't really like.

Most teams are perimeter teams because it's hard to get tall guys that can even tie their shoes, let alone handle the ball and put it in a hoop....AND most teams want to force shots further from the basket because those are usually harder.

But I agree, I like seeing Nader force the D to help defend, then he can find the open man.

Down 13-3

That didn't take long.
First game I have seen this year, the turnout (or lack thereof) is embarrassing...

When you're bad for a decade, and setting record for poor play.. I don't know how you can expect a decent crowd.
24-8. I have no words.....
NIU shooting 2 of 17.
I seriously cant watch anymore...03-banghead
A real stinker so far
Tis one of those games where we can't make anything.
How can a team shot so bad? 10 footers just touching the front of rim.
30-15 half
Oh no we suck again. Hard to see any way this team sniffs a 600 record next year.
NIU down 27. Why are we still watching this train wreck?
It is so hard to feel good about the future of this program. I just see a team that cannot compete tonight, I know they are a bunch of good kids that work hard but they just do not seem to be as talented as BGSU and I am at all sure that BGSU is all that talented.
Such negativity! Shame on you all! Now you will cause a couple posters to come on here and say how we're actually good and we all just need patience.
