That's 3 top-100 DT's committed to USM!!!! #36, #51, and #55.

SMTTT!
Read good things about Crayton in a few Alabama articles... I really hope we manage to keep him through signing day.
We got extremely lucky no one knew about Wilson. He plays at one of the smallest hs's that offer football in Ms. Plus his school is not a member of the Miss assn of coaches so he could not play in any of the all star games.
Hearing Crayton has a good deal of work to do to qualify. Hopefully he gets it done. Considering this new staff is recruiting off of a 0-12 record, they have done as good a job as anyone could have expected. We have taken more raw sleepers than we would have normally, but I like this staff in the way they evaluate recruits. I don't think they would be giving scholly's to any player they think couldn't play. I do know that losing Williams to MSUX really pissed them off, but such is the recruiting game.

I agree about recruiting... Monken plus Buckley seem to be doing OK there.

We'll get our shot at Williams if I'm remembering our schedule correctly. If he's not riding the aluminum, it's quite possible he'll live to regret his decision. Of course, if he is riding the aluminum, he may still experience some (comparatively painless) regret... he was our only QB recruit and would likely have seen a lot of action at USM. It's interesting to note that conference affiliation was cited specifically by Williams' HS coach.
How many of these are expected to qualify? Not trying to be a jerk, just wondering how things are looking for these kids. It seems like a lot of times when ECU is able to sign a highly rated dlineman they never make it to campus.

Crayton is likely to qualify. Williams has work to do. The other 3 are good to go.
Southern Miss, you need good coaching...you already get quality athletes, but leadership needs to be there for success to happen...as you know very well. 04-cheers
It's fun to flaunt 4 star skill position players, and it's great to sign those guys; however those guys listed above are what it takes to win CUSA championships. That's a mean looking group of linemen. I think that we were recruiting most, if not all of those guys.

I know Ole Miss dropped Robinson for academic issues....don't know about the others.

op drops anyone who drops them...always for academic reasons. op is the reason there were limits placed on over signing. Heck, they signed a guy, DL from Wayne County, in the last 5-6 years who couldn't write his own name. It took him 3 or 4 years to get in to school but when he did, he played his ball at op. Powe I believe was his last name.

Don't let op arrogance fool you - their admission standards are ncaa minimum for athletes and they'll do anything they can to lower them for a really good player.

I have watched Wilson play basketball against my son's 1A team. He was not very agressive for as big as he was. Complained to his coaches during the game we were too physical. Let me assure you if we were to physical some D1 boys will have a field day with him.

Have checked with fans of the program and they say he displays the same aggressiveness on the football field.

Hopefully our coaches can change that.

I can't see why his coaches would not be in the Mississippi Assn of coaches unless the school won't pay their dues. We are smaller than they are and our coaches are part of the Coaches Assn. We are both MHSAA 1a schools.

I seriously doubt Wilson qualifies. He can still do it, but it isn't looking like he will. I learned tonight that Crayton is good to go. He should be a beast.

Well he has been quoted as saying, if given the choice, he will go after lower ranked kids with the right attitude and charactor before a highly ranked kid that might poison the team.

Players who didn't get they were part of a team has been a problem for us recently.
