Wahahaha. Look at poor Mullins over there. Looks like Sander doesn't even want anything to do with him.

I miss the old Japanese culture where failures were handed a sword and then left alone in a room.
I absolutely love that pic. mullins faaaading into the background, just barely in the scene. Foot propped up (though that can't be seen in the pic); surgery completed. Healing has begun. All the important stuff being discussed out of his earshot. Almost looks Shakespearean.

So, we now have a new medical term: mullins-ectomy.

Gotta love Noland's socks and laces, too. He's "all in".
Pictures speak a thousand words.

Noland's yellow pants vs. Dooley's orange pants.....close game....Noland by 3 (thanks to the blue and gold socks)
Noland must have hit the three to win against an ill-advised zone.
Dr. Noland has inspired me. I'm in the process now of customizing my own pair of Chuck Taylor All Star High Leathers online; they're gonna be fly.
I am still elated over having a competent, engaged, totally caring President of our University. What a difference! We have someone to fully support now as we have a bright future to look to!
I can already tell a difference in the attitudes of friends that are still enrolled. The apathy is washing away little by little. I know of some that want to be more like him. Keep up the good work El Presidente!
That's the greatest picture I've ever seen. Dr. Noland is great.
Can I be the first one to say something?

I'm all for the vibe of moving ETSU up athletically.

But in the long run it might hurt a guy in his position to come off this way.

Perhaps a new conference hasn't been announced yet because other college presidents don't want to be associated with Bozo the President.

Just sayin'. When Lindsey Nelson is modestly dressed in comparison to your college president, said college president might want to reconsider his wardrobe.
Uh, he doesn't dress that way in "real life" - during the day - and for other more 'genteel' functions.
It would behoove you (I'm just sayin' - not criticizing (truly)) to know more about what *he's* about. "Bozo" he's not. Many others here can vouch for that.

obtuse contrarian...

its his only move.
Independent thought. You might want to try it and stop bending the shaft, or using the word "obtuse" while unable to comprehend capitalization or apostrophes.

I started the post saying I was all for the vibe. What part of that is "contrarian?"

I'm glad Noland doesn't dress that way in real life. But all I'm saying is that I've been named as the Pittsburgh Steelers' No. 1 Fan by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and I never once considered painting my face.

I know! I know! It's what we do around here! Look at Bruce Pearl's orange sport coat!

Exactly.
I will say this. I am all for the look, and I think that things like this need to be done in this particular case to do whatever is possible to increase student support. But ive heard numerous non-students comment negatively on this look and also for him dressing as Bucky. They think it makes him look less presidential.

Again, I am all for it- just saying that I have heard the same types of comments.
Buc- deep down inside, I like the fact he would do this. Yes, I will go on record as supporting this because ultimately I think you should be able to dress any way you please within the realms of decency and proper health.

But I learned, perhaps the hard way, people do judge you by the way you dress.

Look, he had us won over on day one because his name wasn't Paul Stanton.

But I recall an opposing basketball player with long hair being ridiculed "Dreadlock Mullet!" by the ETSU faithful.

Hopefully the chant of "Where's Your Football" will be going away soon.

But to be replaced by "Bozo President!" might not be a good trade.

Then again, I like the look more than the patches on the sleeves that most college presidents wear.
Doesn't the App State president mix it up and play cheerleader at football games, and hasn't that received rave reviews of a president who gets it?
This is a great move, and anyone who thinks it isn't needs their head examined.

Yes! Completely agree. Life is too short. Sometimes you have to let your hair down and live a little. It shows that he is a good sport and willing to be outside the norm. He is the perfect fit for ETSU. As an alum, I am proud to have him.

I understand that people judge you by what you wear. However, it is your character and integrity that ultimately matters.
The man is wearing the attire to athletic events, ATHLETIC EVENTS. I admire him, go Dr Noland and Go Bucs. Of course he will dress appropriately for other occasions.
