'It's not the height, it's the fight' - Undersized forward Rod Rucker stands tall for UAB

Fight Them 'til Hell freezes over, then fight Them on the ice
Everyone needs to make sure they read this. Very moving story. I am a bigger Rucker fan now than I was a few minutes ago.

Great job to Drew as well
I love this quote from Coach Haase:

"It's just a flat-out will (that makes Rucker succeed)," Haase said. "In recruiting, I tend to be drawn to kids that have some of the similarities I had as a player. I'm not saying I'm as good of a player as Rod Rucker or as determined, but I'd like to think I had some of those qualities."

He was an incredibly hard-nosed player at KU. If he can put together a full roster with guys that are talented AND hungry to succeed and improve themselves, we are going to be very pleased with the results.
Stories like that make me proud to be a Blazer. I wish we had 5 Rod Rucker's on the court every night.

Hope we can make a serious run at the NCAA's next year when he is a senior.
That should be printed out and stapled to the forehead of every idiot that wants to shut us down.
Its not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.

03-lmfao when I read the article, I thought Rod may have screwed up his cliche.
You just never know, until you know, what a person had to go thru to get where they are. Proud to be associated with this young man as he appears to be a good young man, ball player and a fine representative for the Blazer, Good luck to you Rod.
Anderson used to say that. Never the less I love the attitude and spirit.
Nice share, there. Good article, and that's another kid that makes me proud he represents UAB. Anybody that isn't afraid to mix it up down low, even if it's not his true position- those are the kind of players I like to watch and earn my respect.
Way to go, Rod!

I'd like to see him at the 1 position. I'm serious!

I like "It's not the height, it's the fight." He could have left the dog part out of it.
