Taking this listing at face value, there are some pretty weak classes including some good MAC programs:

Buffalo, Miami, NIU, and Ohio.

Surprising that some of those schools would not be doing much better.
I am thinking it has more to do with all the MAC coaches turnovers after the season.
Also if there are rumors that a few other coaches could be leaving after this season...
FWIW, there are several WMU inaccuracies:

Shakir Carr - not confirmed.
Evan Faunce - no longer holds a WMU scholarship.
Neil Morrison - no longer holds a WMU scholarship.
Andre Turner - was still in limbo last we knew.

I don't see Ervin Alston, Corey Davis, or Jamar Simpkins on there (who we've all confirmed are verbally committed).

That's just 1/13 schools. Like emu steve said, take it at face value.
I wish all of the MAC schools had their own dependable source of recruiting info somewhere. It would be great for the fans. That's why the BroncoBlitz.com site was started - because WMU didn't have one. I wouldn't depend on ESPN for any MAC school to be honest. However there are Scout and Rivals websites out there that do track some schools closely. I am not sure which ones Scout has, but I know that Rivals is the place to go for the most accurate recruiting info on WMU, CMU, Toledo, and Kent State. The others are kind of a crap shoot unfortunately. Would be great if EMU had a site. I believe CMU has a scout site too.

EMU is a voice in the wilderness.

We don't have a specific site like Rivals or Scout with our own EMU analyst and we just post what little we know here.

It is amazing but not one EMU fan stepped forward to become a recruiting analyst.

Couldn't ONE EMU student take it on?

Shakir Carr - I am at lost on why we have not offered this kid yet. Maybe we have and its not being reported but he has great size and from looking at his youtube, he is a 2 gap player. Everyone already know about my thoughts on big linemens..

Evan Faunce - We could use him as a TE or a DE because we are short on these two position... As was noted on this BB we are short on TE and from looking at the DE position we only have 3 returning and 1 is a senior.

Neil Morrison - no longer holds a WMU scholarship. We need to bringing in another saftey because we currently have 2 senior and 2 juniors at this position. who played last year.. Lets get one and RS him for the future...

Andre Turner - At least he in on the EMU radar and would also be a welcome sight.

I am of the mindset that you you should keep running fresh bodies in on the DL because of the wear and tear that happens during a game. IF you look at the successful college FB programs, this is the case.. But I am sure everyone already know about this...
I actually have a friend that I know over there that majored in sports journalism. Couldn't convince them to do it. If nothing else, it would have been a great resume booster and a great way to get your name out there. If anyone on this board knows of anyone please have them get a hold of me and we will talk to our regional boss. The more MAC coverage the better for all of us!

BP,

Let me ask you a question, do you think posting on the WMU FB BB about a recruit, assist you guys with recruiting? I would think it would because a kid can start following that school and read some of the comments that is being discussed about them and the team..

That would be nice.

It is truly amazing to have really NO ONE from this site, a Rivals site or a Scout site who attends or has attended EMU who gets the 1st hand info from players, recruits, etc. which does not and can not come from the university.

Sports Info does what a university Sports Info Department does. The inside scoop, the off the record stuff, the recruiting stuff, the good rumors, etc. really have to be developed independently of the athletic department.

Some of it could be a simple as getting to know players and talking with them after a game. I guess in the olden days that was considered shoe leather journalism, a journalist going around and writing notes on a little 3 x 5" notebook. "Lee's foot in a boot. New face on the bench. N recruits at game including one with a X h.s. letter jacket."

And, of course, we have no local media to do same.

Truly a land of darkness.

I won't answer for Brian...but in my mind...the info on recruits does 2 things.

1. It keeps our fan base active and engaged in our future. Many times it gives them something to get really excited about.

and

2. The more exposure these recruits get...the more happy they are. A lot of them are media driven these days. They want to see their name in an article. They love doing interviews and tweeting about their experiences. They want rivals, scout, 247, espn, etc...all talking about them. They think it helps them down the road and legitimizes their spot as a top player. It also makes them feel "wanted".

You missed Matt Sinclair who plays center we could move Erbes over to guard. We need an offensive lineman to replace Bass.
EA3 nailed it.
