B12 buddies SEC and ACC would probably support. All this for money of course. Surprise! B12 moving ahead now to seek approval according to today's Daily Oklahoman. Given that the Daily Oklahoman reported this, I take it a serious effort by B12, whereas before it was speculation.

But good news for Nbe. A 10-team B12, along with affiliations with ACC, SEC whatever, would not expand. B12 expansion would probably rob Nbe of UConn, Cincy, USF, and UCF. But, with B1G determined to expand, we are only 1/3 thru the expansion circus at best.
Do you read anyone else's threads?
Tallgrass see the myriad of other threads where this is mentioned next time.

This won't happen. B1G, PAC, SEC, MAC, MWC, CUSA to name a few all have no reason to support this. Why would they, since they have added teams to have a conference championship game? ACC might only due to the rumors that always circle around FSU/CLemson, but there is no value for the other FBS conferences to give Big-12 more money without the proper investment.

The Big-12 will get denied, and then will use this as an excuse to back of their recent rhetoric around 10 teams.

Well, evidently, this post and thread can be regarded as repitition. I went thru all the recent posts and (if I didn't make a mistake), there was no other thread similarly and specifically labeled--but included in other articles and/or threads. I try to label my posts clearly. This allows people to clearly see what the subject matter is. And, it serves another purpose. If I have inadvertently repeated a previously hashed and discussed and cussed issue, then my clearly labeled thread title should warn people off. In the meantime, it is Ann Landers punishment time--30 lashes with a wet noodle!
Guys, this isn't all Tallgrass' fault.

The rumor from January 6

Is popping up again.

Fair enough john. Tallgrass, my apologies. I just feel like its been discussed a lot lately.
It's been discussed ad infinitum. But it keeps popping up in the news...

No apologies necessary. My philosophy is if I want to say whatever I want to say on this board; and the other side of that coin is then I extend that right to all others. You say whatever you want....and no apologies.

<-------- For some reason, I don't think it works that way. I could definitely be wrong though so I apologize in advance.

<--------- Ben there; done that.

Since we are doing repetition in this thread, it seems to have become the topic at hand, let me do yet another repetition. The Nbe fans have co-opted this board and consider it as theirs exclusively. Therefore, any post or comment not praising the Nbe is to be regarded as hate, trolling, or a flame. There needs to be two realignment boards, one for Nbe fans and a second Realignment board for all other fans for all other conferences.

At least not in a civilized world that values etiquette/manners.

Exactly, that puts them squarely in the group that does not live in a civilized world that values etiquette/manners. They live in their own world. Fortunately, not all of Earth operates that way. If we're looking to blame how certain people treat others...just blame their parents. They learned it from them. Perfect parenting is not real. Bad parenting is a choice.

03-confused I'd say the vast majority of folks on this board are NOT nBE fans. In fact I've been posting here way before ECU ever got an invite and none of us have any control whatsoever what has happened within the Big East.

Does it suck to move into a conference that isn't quite what you hoped for? Will the nBE TV deal suck in comparison to the Big 5? Is the nBE a better option for ECU, Memphis, UCF, etc than CUSAv4.5? Yes, yes and yes.
I will try to redirect this hijacked thread. Here is a thought by Berry Tramel that is shared by most.

As I stated earlier, "pressure from other leagues" ain't happening. Even the nBE is looking at getting back to 12...

"So the title game in a 10-team league will be implemented only upon pressure from other leagues. A conference title game in a 10-team league without divisions seems silly. Kansas State and OU would have qualified under such a format in 2012. Would have been good for OU, which could have extracted revenge for losing to K-State in Norman. But it would have been bad for KSU, which would have had nothing to gain.

Of course, the league is to blame for some of the nonsense. When the Big 12 went to the 10-team format in 2011, it campaigned with a slogan of “One True Champion.” Which was completely opposite of fact. Under the 12-team format with a title game, there never was an issue with champion identification. A title game ends all debate. You have a game with a trophy on the sideline; winner takes the trophy home. Then came 2012, when K-State and OU tied, and the Sooners embraced the co-championship. One True Champion? Hardly."
I don't even know why they are asking for such a waiver.

they want the SOS and $$$ benefit without having to add 2 schools that cuts the pie 2 more ways. That tells me that there's nobody (available & willing) left that moves the TV needle and they're unable to raid the ACC.

All these kinds of issues, in a sense, are unimportant given the repercussins of a B1G expansion to 16, 18, or 20 whatever teams.

I am skeptical. When in doubt on a college athletic issue, choose money for the answer. It is all about money, the never ending greedy quest for more and more and more money.
