If so, GREAT. Add Tulsa and one other (UMass?) and let's get this thing going.

If the Big East were my taco stand, I would add Southern Miss and stop. There is no need add more unless an ACC or B1G raid is imminent. Get a media deal that allows for revisit on additions that add value and roll on...the core group of schools is geographic and competitive.

I would add nothing and just wait. There will be no real add that will move the proverbial needle at this point and there is too much smoke that there is going to be moves in front of them in the pecking order. Why add when in 6 months the entire footprint could morph again?

Currently they are at 9/11. After ECU gets the likely non-fb bump it's 10/11.

So talk to the networks and figure out whether Tulsa or USM are desired more. Each is a wash competitively. Both have been good.

nothing surprising... its pretty well-known that Tulsa, UMass, Southern Miss, Buffalo, Rice, Army and BYU have all at least been discussed (or in Army and BYU's cases, have been offered and refused so far).

Southern Miss only makes sense if you want to go 14. You take USM, Tulsa, and UMass. I am concerned that adding more schools waters down the basketball schedule because it kills the double round robin.

Agree. But if Navy is having cold feet and pulls out (big if), then adding Tulsa and USM to get to 12 makes sense.

The CUSA transfers know USM is a solid choice and that last season was an anomaly. Even Cinci in CUSA 1.0 knows USM's "value." Tulsa is probably in for making that "West" division.

I guess it will depend on how much tv and competitive value the conference can get.

So then the only original CUSA members still in CUSA would be UNCC and UAB? (Presuming USM and Tulsa both go to the BE.)

Navy will honor it's obligation. The only reason to add Southern Mississippi and UMass is if Cincinatti and UConn get taken by the ACC. Who knows what'll happen. I 'm hearing about a BIG12-ACC alliance. It makes the propsed and failed MWC-CUSA alliance not sound so stupid now.

the mocking was the grandiose television deal all these people were predicting(especially the early pie in the sky 15 million dollar ones). well, and the fact that it was mostly the same schools under a new name.

Missed it but a few days ago BigEastDaily tweeted that they are targeting Tulsa and Southern Miss for all sports.

Southern Miss fans have been either opposed, cautious, or supportive of joining. I have been very supportive and think it will be great for the nBE, solidifying their spot along with the MWC as the clear best of the rest. Most USM fans are in either of the cautious or supportive camp.

Hopefully you are just talking about him. Because, if not, you have been paying attention the way you read my earlier post...you weren't. Most posters on this board have been supportive of USM anf felt that they either should be or would be a part of the Big East. The punches from USM fans kept coming. Many USM fans even challenged your supporters in post after post to answer why you haven't been chosen and raked them over the coals for their honest and, likely, accurate responses. Your frustration is understandable but your anger is directed mostly at the wrong people.
