Dogs get Dandy commitment

By Todd Kelly

Lanier defensive lineman Louis Ellis has committed to Mississippi State.

Ellis, a 6-foot-3, 295-pound senior, was a preseason Dandy Dozen pick by The Clarion-Ledger. Ellis also considered Southern Miss and Ole Miss. He initially committed to the Rebels last spring.

"I was in my junior year, so I was just trying to take some pressure off (by committing)," Ellis said, "but it seemed like it didn’t take any off.

"I went to football camp (at MSU) last summer and just liked it. I liked the coaching staff and the way they treated the players. I just felt comfortable."
