I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts on how his tenure at VT affected our recruiting. And now that he is back, how he might affect our future recruiting.
It didn't help, that's for sure.
Overrated.

Hopefully he will be gone at the end of the year along with Blaine. No use for either of them anymore.
Was it Richardson's job to recruit and sign big men? LOL.
Richardson would land recruits if we had a different head coach. Our recruiting woes are NOT due to Richardson.

Monarchfan4life is right. I will go one step further. Our coach is a raging alcoholic, Aau coaches, highschool coaches do not want their kids to play for a coach that has a huge drinking problem. I will not go into details, but Blaine has coached drunk in several games, showed up drunk at the Big Blue barbecue, announced the homecoming act blitzed out of his mind. If you guys only knew the extent of his problem.

John Richardson is well respected around the circuits, he just has a lead weight tied around him in Blaine.
If we kept Richardson, we might have DFS on our roster right now.
Last three posters have it correct, sorry to say. Not speculation, just the fact. Richardson is a class act, he should be given the reins right away. Won't happen it seems. My take is the AD is the person getting these articles written. Is this all just a diversion, a prelude to something happening after this season? Guess we'll see. Sure hope so.
For once someone that has all these drunk details needs to give details.
I think it's time for him to go because of what he can't recruit and what isn't happening on the court. If someone can say on Nov 20th he coached drunk, or he rambled due to alcohol at this press conference on jan 12th... great. Let's hear it.
I would get rid of Corrigan right now - he is completely useless. I know for a fact its his job on the road to take care of Drunk BT and cover for him. Both are horrible role models to these young players – they see what’s going on, everyone sees it. I would keep John R, he is legit, and Williamson, but Corrigan and BT are not worth squat. I know for a fact that BT was drinking heavy around the Butler game - one of the worse coached games of his career. He coached drunk too many games to mention. I’m worried Wood is going to keep BT one more year just to eat the contract. He knows BT can’t produce next year, then it will be an easy fire, but the damage will be too great to over come by then.
People wanted BT fired for the Baze situation and it came out that Baze never told him.

I thought Baze not telling BT was more of an indictment on BT than him telling him and then trying to cover it up.

BT should have been the one person in his life that could have helped him and guided him through that situation but the trust wasn't there. Maybe now we know why.
Never mind.
Great point Smudge, didn't Wood travel with the team on nearly every road trip his first year on the job? What is the most logical reason behind this and not University spin?

When my boss shows up on my job, it's not a good sign.
Gotcha, thanks. I didn't consider that angle

Oh please....

The more people that know this stuff, maybe something will get gone. I am just fighting for moms and dads out there who entrust their kids to a coach with this problem and for our players.

Details and evidence please. If true, then a drunk BT is the least of ODU's problems...which is why I don't believe you. Too many people have too much to lose to keep this under wraps for years. Plus it's nearly impossible to keep a secret for this long with how many people are involved in athletics...from the fans to staff.

Plus if you really cared about the "moms and dads out there who entrust their kids to a coach with this problem," then you would have said something earlier since you've witnessed it for seasons. You said you saw it in New Orleans and that was nearly three years ago.

Again, it seems awfully convenient for these accusations to come out now during this terrible season.

Not defending anyone, but if he saw it with his own eyes what other evidence does he need for you? Dont think these people have anything to "prove" to other posters. When I have recruiting info it is because I see it with my own eyes or hear it with my own ears (from the recruit or recruit's coach). I understand it is a sensitive topic but I don't fault the guy for voicing what he saw. Now whether what he saw is true is another story...and not one I care to comment on.
My opinion is that hundreds of people could come forward and post stuff but we've managed not to go there. I'm not close and I've seen and heard stuff but I just figured everyone knew and heard the same "rumors"
I took them down, totally telling the truth, just found this board, will not be back.
I'm done here - I think people are fooling themselves about the facts - google what happened at Montana. I know what i've seen and heard. Top 40 ODAF here. Bye.
