Ohio wins at Kent by 1 in a game that had 15 ties and 20 lead changes.

Buffalo raced out to a 20 point lead but Akron is chipping away.

BG and Toledo renewing pleasantries in Savage.

i haven't seen the number yet, but i read on Facebook earlier today that they were expecting a capacity crowd. the game was on TV here in Ohio and it looked to me like just about every seat was taken.
Akron has looked like the much better team since a technical was called. They're playing very physical down low and essentially taking McCrea out of the game. It's just a matter of if Buffalo can hang on to their lead now.
ESPN box score lists attendance at 5,453. Capacity is 6,327. Not bad, given the weather.

Answer: They can't. Akron now up by six thanks to an 18-0 run

Akron is up by 4 now so Buffalo is swimming uphill.
Western and Toledo both up double digits now.
UB benefited from surprisingly strong guard play in the first 30 minutes of this game and now they're trying to force it down low and it just hasn't been working.

And a commanding 5 game advantage over Kent State for the 2 seed with 10 games left to play. Ohio would have to go 3-7 down the stretch in MAC play while Kent State goes 8-2.

Ohio's advantage on Western Michigan is 3 games even after WMU's victory tonight. There is a lot more East to West parity outside of Akron and Ohio than what their has been in years so they've got their work cut out if they want to make up 3 games on Ohio.

Kent also has to play at Ohio and at Akron so I'd say the two seed is pretty doubtful. They've got talent though so getting a bye isn't out of the question.
I'm sorry, but Coach Orr is an idiot. bgSUCKS was down about 10-12 with about 1:15 left. At this point, UT was something like 15/15 from the FT line. What does bgSUCKS continue to do, until about :30 left? Foul! UT ended the game 26/27 from the FT line. It was dumb to keep fouling. bg would get up court then either make, get fouled, or miss and UT would get the rebound, all within about :05. Once UT would get the ball, bg would foul immediately. So only :05-:06 would come off the clock for every pair of possessions. This :30-:45 seconds took literally 15 minutes and did nothing but get bg down by more points. Why continue to foul a team that, at the time, was around 15/15 from the line, and ended up 26/27?

Worse coaching move was to allow the Lilliputian PG to take every shot. 8-22 and 1-7 from three? He got bailed out on a couple bad shots by our freshman fouling him or it would have been worse. Worst 20 point night I can remember by anybody in a long time. Krause was hustling all over, grabbing boards, getting steals and hitting threes and he went ballistic with the PG when he took yet another bad shot with no passes. I like Krause's hustle and he shot the 3 very well but there really was no offense. Calhoun got very few minutes after two early fouls-I would have played him twenty in the second half. Basically it was Krause and Calhoun and that was the offense besides the prayers that Crawford was throwing up.
Buffalo shot lights-out in the first half against Akron. Something ridiculous like 83%. When Akron switched to the 1-3-1, it completely shut UB down.

Nice crowd for the game, at 5,400. They were giving away LeBron James wearing Akron gear bobbleheads, most of which I bet are already up on eBay.

Looks like 5 are already on Ebay. 2 sellers have 2 bobbleheads up, then 1 seller has 1 bobblehead for sale. And it's funny - 1 seller has 2 different shipping prices for the 2 separate bobbleheads (albeit it's only a $0.17 difference).

1 bid for $5
1 bid for $5
5 bids for $26
3 bids for $20.50
0 bids for $0.01
WMU looks like they could run off a few more wins. They run the table and atleast make a run at the two seed should Ohio or Akron see a sweep in their series and a slip up. Would require 14 in row from WMU, but they are done with Akron and Ohio until the MAC semis and the other 9 MAC teams look very beatable home and away. WMU is clearly third in the MAC

Kraus' 4-6 performance brought his shooting this year to a scintillating 26.2%.

He's terrible, but last night he was just about their best player.
