According to the AD Kyle moats during a radio interview today, Track removal to start before end of upcoming football season with track, soccer, field hockey moving to new location. Field to be moved closer to west stands, east stands will be demolished and replaced with possible student apartment complex/stadium combo on East side. No new Lounge/Skybox planned for East side. Removing track allows for possible club seating in South end zone. If not there, possibility of completely gutting bottom part of west side and putting club seating down there.

Hope they enjoy the Sun Belt.
Are they lowering the field? It looks like it'd help the view a lot.
Forget the stadium. When are they going to field a competitive FCS football team?

I think way down the line they'd be a good fit for the MAC, once their football at least improves to an acceptable level. They occupy a decent sized market (by MAC standards), aren't that bad of a geographic fit, are a university on the rise, and already have women's soccer/men's swimming in the MAC. Given how desperate the Belt might get in the coming months, they might pick up an invite, but they might creep on to our short list within a decade.
They are a good get for FBS. Mizzou St would be the only other FBS program besides Mizzou that plays at that level...am I correct? The population size of Missouri would easily support them.

That is why it is puzzling their football team has always been horrible in FCS.
They could fit in the MAC, CUSA, or SUNBELT. If they upgrade, with their basketball history and being only the 2nd FBS team in a populous state, they would be quite the pickup

Kyle Moats used to work in Louisville, under a certain AD named Tom Jurich. Look like he learned a thing or two from TJ. Aggressively growing facilities to try and compete at higher levels.

Best of luck ....

Recruiting would pick up though at the FBS level substantially.

The question is would they be willing to leave the Missouri Valley? It sounds like they are years away from having the stadium changes in place anyways.
What is going to be the capacity of the new stadium?
big 12 or bust. I could see them in cusa or mac

rumors have had Creighton going to the C7 which would be a big blow to the conference. I love the MVC and don't want to move to a lower basketball league but we won the MVC regular season in 2010 and had an RPI of 21 a few years earlier and neither of those things helped us get an at-large bid to the NCAA so being in the MVC seems to hold us back when trying to get respect from the NCAA selection committee so we might be more willing to leave the MVC than we were a few years ago.

Missouri State fits the profile of an FBS program more than just about any move-up candidate. Big school in fairly big state. Only one other FBS school in state and that school is far away. Decent sized metro area with no pro sports. Success in some sports other than fb. Good bb fan support. I've long thought they could be successful at the FBS level. They've done as well (or poorly) in FCS as UConn.

There are several schools more ready for FBS now, but I don't think I would put any school other than Cal-Davis as having more long run potential among the FCS schools.

Ever looked at the state of NC?

Why is it the best football program overall has been ECU?
Seems like lowering the field then closing the field would be cheaper. Wouldn't work in FL or LA but might here.

I wish that were true. I think we've got the most loyal fans in NC and a very respectable program. Sadly UNC has our number on the field and by pretty much any other NCAA football metric, bowls, win %, etc. We have had more All Americans though.

Are you really going to get more respect from the NCAA selection committee in a CUSA without Memphis?

It would be a decent geographic fit for Mo State, though. There would be a good natural rivalry with Tulsa.
Good for Missouri State. I've thought for a long time that they're one of the best candidates in FCS to move up.
