Per the Sun Sentinel's FAU writer Dieter Kurtenbach:
Home: FIU, Marshall, MTSU, and Tulane
Away: ECU, Rice, So. Miss, and UAB.

I'm slightly disappointed the first Owls vs. Owls matchup is on the road...oh well!

Any of you Marshall or Tulane fans coming to Boca this year?

I was hoping FIU would have been a road game this season. That would have given us 3 road games I could have driven to this season.

Outside of WV and Ohio, Florida is home to the highest number of Marshall alumni. Considering the majority of the team is from South Florida as well, I would assume we'll have a decent crowd there.

Screw that. The atmosphere last year at our place was AWESOME. FIU could never hope to generate that kind of buzz at there place.

I'll be the students will be thrilled with another 24 hour tailgate.

GO OWLS!
Pretty happy with this schedule. Getting Tulane on the way out is fine with me. Get Rice right away too in case they leave in the future is nice.

Hopefully they split the Texas teams as evenly as they can. Would like to have 1 on the schedule in most years.

Haha...I just hoping to go 8 Owls games this year.
I would of like to see ECU play at our place.

Im happy with Marshall as I think they will bring some folks.
Not for FAU.

Pretty sure the home game against BCC will be better received. Go F I U!

I guess I'll take my mom with me to the FAU game. She earned her master's degree there back in the late 1980's.

We are back in the same conference and have played each other every year for over a decade...I think it's time you and the rest of the FIU fans admit this is a rivalry and embrace it. Trust me, it's more fun that way.

I understand why they dont want to call it a Rivalry, I mean with the domination we've laid on them with an all time 8-3 record in Football I wouldnt want to admit it either. 05-stirthepot

Seriously, FIU fans need to stop having a man crush on UM and embrace FAU as thier main rival we are once again in the same confrence and compete head to head for the same recruits.

Stop being afraid of it and welcome it.
Im debating going to the FIU or FAU game.

Assuming they are both at reasonable dates... Why should I/we... As Herd fans, come to FAU?
Depends on what your looking for.

FAU is much closer to the beach than FIU (You can see the ocean from our stadium) and has several downtown areas (Boca's, Delrays, Deerfield) that are withign a 10 minute drive. There are plenty of Hotels right on the beach, and Football season is "Offseason" for toursits so the rates arent bad at that time of year. Eating out is almost a religion in Boca, and there are literally over 100 restaurants within that 10 minute drive.

Either trip would be good and each area is different from the other. FIU is closer to the Keys if you wanted to take a side trip down there.

Allegiant Air out of Huntington with a direct flight to Ft. Lauderdale is showing less than $200 roundtrip.

The stadium is beautiful and our campus is only a few miles from the beach. You are also a 20 minute drive from Ft. Lauderdale and 40 minutes from Miami. Can't go wrong with a trip to see either though. South Florida in the winter is tough to beat.

Yup.

South Florida is blessed to have 3 major airports in the area so flying down is an option.

Miami Int closest to FIU
WPB closest to FAU
FLL is right in the middle.

FLL is actually closer to FAU I think. West Palm from my place in Boca is a hike.
