For how it is use I think it matters.

Lost opportunities at Cornell, Dusquense and Illinois State.

Hard to make any argument about being on the cusp when you cough up a fur ball at each.

So back to the slowly develop and look to peak in March routine.

A better showing at U of M wouldnt have hurt either. Sat in bar with a number of employes who were offering consolation between snickering.
The Cornell and Duquesne games were definitely winnable. I'm not sure about Illinois St. They came out firing and were clearly the better team. They've gone on a cold spell recently though. We might have a decent shot if we played them at UA.

ISU was and is the better team. However, I was disappointed in how we responded in getting punched in the nose. We dropped our guard, whimpered and took a couple more shots just for good measure.

Not our best effort, and effort is key. If this team plays to compete they will hang with most and I mean most. Playing timid or trying to feel someone out is a recipe for disaster. There is talent (gold) on this team. How much of the real stuff or fool's gold? Time will tell.

If I had my druthers ( I recently misplaced them with no idea where I could have put them) I would start Hutch but he would play a lot less. He is a liability on offense being so one dimensional but looked at as being so much more. And if you can't get Perry, Tava and Avery to make up the D your not coaching.
Thanks GBL. Your insights have weight.
GBL, Hawk always goes with the senior. He'll probably start Nick Stapert next year.

Poke vs. Brown: That is as plain as the nose on your face, yet rather than go with the guy who really helps your team, he sticks with the senior.

Even more frustrating is that Pokley is effective off the bench.

Who gets the bulk of the minutes and who plays in crunch time is all that matters.

Also, you are forgetting that Brown is being limited by the trainers to 4 minute stretches. And frankly, even if they weren't limiting him, it might be a good idea for WMU to do that anyhow. Keeping him healthy needs to be a priority.
Well Brown did get more minutes than Pokley in the NIU game. Still easing him back into the rotation cautiously.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that pattern continue.
EA3 beat me to it.

During the holidays I consume way to many comments and I have ballooned to DB and Hoople proportions. Michelin Man but with a tan.
