I fully expect them both in CUSA in 2013...
Good. Go ahead and let Tulane and ECU go while we're at it.

I doubt they leave before 2014. The BE is not ready for them, yet.

What's that got to do with anything?

Only if they pay us more money. Don't give ECU anything that they want. I couldn't care less about Tulane, but I don't want us to do a damn thing to make ECU happy.

Their invites are for 2014 and there are no indications that they want to leave early. Word is they have not even officially withdrawn from CUSA yet. And consider that decisions need to be made in the next couple of weeks for scheduling. Also, ECU, at this point, only has a football-only invitation so they need to find a home for their other sports. The invire will probably turn into an all-sports invite, but not before 2014 so there are some concerns there. And even though the C7 is leaving they haven't left yet. So they are still the voting majority - at least until July 1, 2013. By that time its too late to come into BE for 2013. Its all about timing. Besides there's too much going on among other conferences that have to be hashed out first. Not saying its not gonna happen just that I doubt it and if it does it may be last minute...

Yep
BEast is releasing schedules today. ECU and the Greenies are stuck with us for one more year whether they like it or not. BEast has BCS Access for one more year, so no reason for them to have to split that money with ECU and Tulane. Wait till the money is given out and then let them join officially.
What they will end up finding is that there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Just a pissed off gay leprechaun shaking his crokked stick in the air.

Yes RT @TMcMillan85: @McMurphyESPN are East Carolina & Tulane still going to be in ConferenceUSA for 2013 football season ?

Now that the Mountain West Conference has a stronger lineup than the Big East, are you still sticking with the MWC-CUSA merger story?
I still think that the two conferences have a good chance of working together. An alliance is different than a merger. I believe I said alliance.
MWC has emerged as the best of the three conferences. The alliance idea worked when they believed that a combined conference would be stronger than the Big East. They have no reason to form alliances with anyone else.
I hear what you are saying but there is still a lot of water that will travel under the bridge. Stay tuned!
FAU & MTSU to C-USA in 2013 is all but official.

All mainstream media outlets are reporting it's done deal and the official announcement will come next week.
I like the addition of MTSU as it'd be a good travel game for either fan base. I hope they're one of our home games this year but have a feeling they'll be an away game instead.
Sun Belt Conference commissioner Karl Benson, in a telephone interview with AL.com Friday evening, confirmed an earlier report by ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy that Middle Tennessee State and Florida Atlantic will join Conference USA on July 1.

I see more of an alliance with the Pac12 and the Mountain West that the MWC with CUSA. The MWC is very strong now and they've gotten themselves in position to be a bigtime league.
Maybe. The question is, do they help themselves more by playing Pac 12 teams with higher visibility (and likely having a losing percentage), or beating up on C-USA teams and upping their win total.
