After watching him miss tackle after tackle in the title game, I think 10th may be a little generous.

What do Manti's "girlfriend" and the Alabama offense have in common? Te'o has never laid a hand on either of them!

Ps if you read this interview, it's clear as day that he is lying through his teeth.

The part where he says he talked too her for hours every night, fell asleep with her on the phone and she was still there when he woke up is by far the most damning.

No one, even as a prank, would spend THAT much time talking to a dude on the phone. And where did the feminine voice come from? Couldn't have been his "friend", who was a guy.

It's clear he made this all up, but the reason could be one of two things......either he did it for publicity and to get national recognition, his story out there etc. or he did it to cover up the fact that he is gay.

If I had to guess.......id go with gay because no one could be that stupid to bring all this on himself simply for publicity sake.

But why would he try to hide in plain sight to cover up his sexuality? It's well-known that he's Mormon and ND is a Catholic school. Why not just use your religion to cover up your sexuality? It's the easiest way to turn down most speculation. Look at Tim Tebow. Lol. But seriously if that was his intention, he clearly shot himself in the leg (Plaxico Burress dig). Lol.

Sounds like a 22 year old who thought it would be funny. Spun out of control quickly and rather than nip it in the butt quickly let it get out of control. Or he and/or someone else less wise thought it a good PR move for the trophy.
