Did Dr Selig just say on the Nick Cattles show that we were going to bid to host the CUSA bball tournaments? I caught the tail end of it

Didn't listen, but if that's true, I would like for this to happen.

Selig seems really big into hosting events at ODU, and the more the better.

I hope so. Since Marshall joined the league in 2005 the C-USA Tourney has been played in Memphis, Tulsa and El Paso.

With all the rumors out, and Memphis' 2013 departure, the tourney will not be at those places ever again after 2014.

My take on what he said was Memphis bid 1 million dollars for the tourney and he'd like to be in the position to bid (knowing it might take that much to win it). Did not hear him say he will bid.

I don't think anyone will be bidding a million in the new CUSA. Perhaps we could get the city of Richmond to bid. Might actually have a shot at winning games there.

I think the city of El Paso assisted UTEP when they hosted a couple of years ago.

the MEAC tourney is at Scope the next couple of years. if we want the City's help, you want that to go well. (although we should be able to hold the CUSA tourney at the Ted)

Norfolk would be great. People would actually show up.

A few of the host cities have had 2 arenas. One for men and one for women. When it was in Birmingham, men were at the BJCC and women were at Bartow.

Our 2 arenas have much smaller gap in capacity between them. The Ted (on campus) is roughly 8,500 and the Scope (downtown) would be somewhere near 10,000.

With the practice gym being built next to the Ted, you'll have 4 locker rooms. This is great, the teams playing has one set and the teams getting ready will have their own.

Great point. It also doesn't hurt that they'll have a court to warm up on, something the CAA never had at the big brown dump

Didn't think about that. The next game could happen almost immediately after the first (although would probably be delayed ~ 15-20 min to let fans get to their seats).
