Using ESPN we can get somewhat of an idea of English's classes:

First this year so far:

2012:

2011:

2010:

2009:

And just for fun Genyk's last class:

This doesn't compare how EMU did compared with other MAC schools.
Dear emu79,
Nice compilation to see who stuck around the last few years. I noticed last fall, Desdan Hester was off the roster. Do you, or anyone out there know what happened to him? Class of 2010.
Ken, my eyesight isn't what it was but Hester is gone? Also Ken double check me but I didn't see Kevin Wheeler on the latest roster either or did he leave last fall?

Should be an interesting spring roster.
Dear emu79,
I checked the roster on Eastern's website and neither Hester or Wheeler are listed. I know last spring I talked to Hester who was on the sidelines with a boot on his leg, and he said he was recovering from a Achilles tendon operation. When I asked if he would be ready for the fall, he said yes, but like I said earlier, he is no longer listed on the roster. I also checked a program from the Army game and Hester was listed, but not Wheeler.
Wheeler left the team before the season started, if I remember correctly. So did Ja'ron Gillespie.

I think we may start seeing other kids leaving the program before end of school..

Many times after a coach leave a school their recruits who were recruited by that coach would tranfer outta the school. I am not saying this will be the case @ EMU but we should expect it.. This should leave open scholarships for JUCO over the summer or kids who are looking for a change.. This is how we landed our starting SS (Donald Coleman) this summer.

If I was English, I would review all the names of recruits that I was trying to land at EMU (mostly DL) and see what their currently situations are and if they are looking..
One point that Pudge makes is a good one, we don't know if there are any FCS or other transfers into the program. However I thought we had about 21-22 scholies to give out for the 2013 class. It maybe one or two more than that.

Hester may never have recovered from his Achilles injury and been able to play. That sometimes happens.
You know what I notice, I notice that regardless of who the football coach is the number of recruits that actually graduate from EMU seems like a small percentage, some never enroll, some quit, some transfer and of course some get run off due to coaching changes.
It isn't really the recruits, its getting them here, developing them for all four or five years.
With the newest recruit (Barnes) we just landed, it seems as if we are starting to land our fair share of 3 stars recruits. Much more then we had before..

If a coach could solve this problem it would go a long way to getting us out of our losing rut. Almost every year we have way too few four and five year seniors. Players leave the program before using up their eligibility. New guys need to be recruited, trained, strengthened and matured. You can't have a good program when you're always starting over.
Totally agree LJM!

That reminds me of our basketball program. Hopefully you'll get it turned around.
