In remembering the oBE schools, basketball was king and well known football schools represented the North East market. Many schools would have jump immediately to join that respected conference....Then things changed, generating more revenue became the Holy Grail schools left and were replaced by CUSA teams. Louisville,Cinn,USF. Ok not the old boys but... Louisville/Cinn did well. Then some more left and were replaced by more CUSA, then the the BB7 leave. And in the meantime everybody is wondering where the money is by joining the nBE. In looking at what I see and I'm no expert, there's not much east left in nBE, I can't see those folks in the NE getting excited about watching 2 TX schools play or 2 Fla. schools play, and basketball? I don't see Houston at ECU generating much interest in Boston. So why would a TV network pay a lot more money for more CUSA schools? If Houston playing SMU didn't light up Houston TX before, calling it a BE conference game is going to make a change? I maybe wrong, but the money needs to hit the table NOW, but I don't think it's going to be anywhere near what the new addditions are hoping for. And does anyone really think Louisville/Cinn want to stay now? Playing their old mates? Maybe a conference name change say like The Greater New South Conference would help.01-wingedeagle That ought to get them excited in New Jersey!

Why
I think it has been pointed out that nBE is nothing more than a name at this point...it is CUSA 3.x in totality

The better point is what becomes of the nBE/ACC leftovers after the 4/16 becomes reality

You are right....nobody in the NE will give two shites about this conference in the same vein as they don't care about the current CUSA make-up...why would a name change dictate increased viewership?
