Deontay McManus
BOOM!

Maybe it's just me, but he doesn't look that fast/quick.
Interesting. Scout has him listed as a 6-1, 210 lb LB with 4.5 speed. Size and speed look about right in the highlights, but I don't see where Scout got him to 4 stars as a WR unless they gave him points as a West Virginia commit (before he decommitted). I was more impressed with his defensive skills, where he looked to me like a hard hitting FS.

This is about what i was thinking. Looks a bit slow to be a WR. Hard to tell from a video, but he seemed that way to me.
Think Anquan Boldin of the Ravens. Thick body, very strong, kind of overpowers smaller DBs but not elite speed. This gives Marshall the #7, #8 and #10 prep school players in the 2013 class according to Rivals.
I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, because we won a lot of games using guys like that, but he is the perfect model for a Tommy West receiver. Tall, strong, not particularly fast, but with good hands. The last of his prototype receivers played this year, Marcus Rucker.
Keith Morehouse Tweet.
Keith saying McManus will enroll at Marshall on Monday.

We still have a chance with Stacy Cooley also.

I think we could pull some shockers on signing day and Coley could very well be apart of it.
Can he play defense?

He can be whatever he wants as long as he helps the team.
Congrats on the pickup.

Feb 6th should be fun. We only have 14 in this class so far, but they are a great 14.

I think there is a certain player's brother who could pull the biggest announcement. The longer he stays uncommitted, the better chance we have at him...

Looks like a very good athlete, so as long as he is coachable, he should help the team! Congrats on having him committed. 04-cheers

Marshall has had the best class in CUSA the last 2 years. After its all said and done I think we will have a top 3 class if not the best class again.
just looking at the other classes on espn, it looks like we already have the best class per capita.
He was probably a 3 star until he committed to WVa and bumped to a 4.
Rivals still adds and subtract stars based on who a kid is committed to although they claim 're-evaluation' as the reason.

Don't be surprised if he drops back to a 3 since he is now committed to Marshall.

Hopefully he stays as a 4 as regardless of skill, it looks good for Marshall and helps in recruiting.

Nope, McManus has always been a 4 Star. Believe it or not the 4 Star athletes over the last 3 years haven't lost their star rating after committing to Marshall.

Like I always say the last thing I worry about from Coach Holiday is his ability to recruit. Now if we work out the kinks in other areas we should complete our comeback that started so long ago.
