My mistake, you are correct.
any special requests by any acc schools in regards to scheduling that i should know about?
looking at the slate of games its gotta be 75% lock that alabama vt is the labor day night game with maybe a double header of acc action with duke wake in the afternoon as long as the schools are ok with it

Not saying lightning would strike twice, but Beamer might request standard rest in a situation like that. I don't know what type of team VT is bringing back, so I don't know if its a team that will respond well to short rest even its its a perceived lesser opponent.

EDIT: I missed that VT played last Labor Day vs. GT. Move along, nothing to see here.

The only way VT agreed to it was because it was at home.

When we played Boise the game wasn't over until early Tuesday morning. Tuesday became a travel day so it was a short week of practice. They won't do that again.

Why does everyone think you can suddenly make the 'Bama/VT game part of the ACC package? Chic fil a already has a tv deal for the game.
Helmet schedules are posted (most of ACC dates are "TBD")

There are tabs for Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12, SEC, and all group of 5 conferences too.

I think the other thing in play with the C-F-A game is that the game is played in an NFL stadium. If they wanted to play the game earlier than Saturday, they may have to wait for the NFL preseason schedule, which I think they had to do before setting the date for the NC State-Tennessee game last year. Last year they also had to move Georgia St.'s opener last year to Thursday to get that game out of the way. Currently GSU is open over Labor Day weekend.

The stadium probably tells the NFL that they cannot use the stadium for a certain number of days. I'm pretty sure several NFL stadiums do the same with their bowl dates.

To play the game after Saturday, they also might have to wait out the NFL playoffs. Typically, the Super Bowl champ plays in the opening Thursday game at home. Falcons = still alive (barely). All depends on when they want the stadium.

For the most part no. And it's a bit annoying. The ACC is notorious for issuing its schedule well after the SEC who usually has theirs ready a few years in advance.
bigten as well

so its pretty much random except for a few matchups

Not matchups, a couple of certainties.

Typically the projected best teams are going to play early in the season so that the conference slate is as undesirable as possible to TV late in the year.

The schedule has to be set up where VT and GT face as many teams coming off of a bye week while UNC gets nobody coming off a bye.

We're open on the schedule but it will be an SBC conference game vs. South Alabama on Thursday Night. Should be announced when the conference schedule is announced 3/1.
i have read acc gives each team 1 scheduling request any of the teams fans on here know of there teams request at least recently ?
Per Dan Wolken, Dabo Swinney has said Clemson has been asked to host Georgia on Labor Day.

Georgia hosts South Carolina the following Saturday. I don't think they'd want to play a conference game like SC on short rest. If I were UGA, I would want the following things worked out with the SEC so I have a bye on 9/7 before I do it:

* Move Toledo-Missouri on 9/7 to 9/28 which allows for...
* ...South Carolina-Georgia & South Carolina-Missouri to swap dates from 9/7 to 10/26.

That gets UGA a bye on 9/7.

That would be AWESOME if they can work that out... Georgia @ Clemson on Monday Night Football!
Toledo-Missouri could also be moved to 11/16 to accomplish this.

Also, someone pointed out that UGA is already off on 9/14. They could move UGA-Missouri to 9/14 from 10/12
I didn't realize how close Clemson & Athens were - about the same distance as Louisville & Lexington. That's a rivalry that should be played more often!
Per FBSchedules.com (who is also an UGA fan), UGA's AD says they haven't been contacted by Clemson or presumably ESPN about a date change.
Another way to get UGA a bye on 9/7:

* Move Austin Peay-Vandy to later in year
* Flip dates of SC-Vandy (9/14) and UGa-SC (9/7)
