Honestly if Tulsa doesn't jump, USM is on the clock. Big East will solidify itself. USF and UCF refuse to be in the same conference as FIU and FAU

Spoken with such authority. Politics and conference realignment make strange bedfellows.
If Tulsa leaves, my biggest care will be that I just don't anymore. Hopefully, I'll get over that. But college football is really starting to piss me off.

You think Ohio would leave the MAC?

The Ohio AD Jim Schaus came over from Witchita State in 2008 and since then has worked wonders with coaching hires and upping the budget to 29 million. He's said on past radio show's that he is open to CUSA and/or the Big East.

My gut feeling is with Tulane/SMU out of CUSA and Tulsa/Rice likely out the door the school would be opposed to joining a conference without a strong academic component.

What would the divisions look like with Ohio?

East: Ohio, Marshall, MTSU, Charlotte, ODU, FAU, FIU
West: UTEP, UTSA, UNT, ULL, LaTech, SoMiss, UAB

This lineup is growing on me because the more I look at it this looks like a 2 bid NCAA conference.

One reason Ohio might want to leave for CUSA is that the school could host the conference football championship at home instead of having to hike up to Ford Field in Detroit. Perhaps Ohio could even host the CUSA conference basketball tournament.

Ohio is #1 in FB/BB salaries in the MAC along with budget so the program needs more challenge. We've averaged 9 wins a year in FB since 2009 and played in 5 NCAA tournament games since 2010.

Agree. Until UH and SMU make a final decision on the MWC, there is no need to act. If UH and SMU pull out of the nBE and go west, I wonder if Tulane might return to C-USA if we refunded their exit fees.

Screw tulane and anyone who left....at least to the extent of eliminating costs for them. I can't blame any of them for moving when they thought they were bettering their lot.......but it was indeed a big boy decision - and if consequences come about because of that decision its theirs and theirs alone to suffer through.

Coming from a fan of a school that hasn't played a snap at the FBS level, that's a bit over the top...

I think longterm CUSA is the better conference, but the "slumbelt" flexed its muscle this year, there's no denying that.

You must have missed last year sport. Runners went 5-4 vs FBS teams.

Nothing sexy about Slumbelt teams. I'd rather stay at 13 and wait until we lose 2-3 more before dumpster diving.

Although that's very good for you, of those 5 wins, those teams were a combined 9-51. Of those 5 teams, 3 were startup FBS programs (TxSt, USA, and GaSt) and technically, GaSt is still FCS so you went 4-4 against FBS teams this year.

Well, if the LATEST is true, there's no doubt Tulsa will become tulsa...and in my mind they'd become a fek'm squad. That said, if Tulsa does NOT jump for some reason, I don't see USM as "next on the clock". I think that spot would fall to Marshall.

I beg to differ.

Who knows how long any of these teams will actually stay or move on and pass us by. Just give us our 8 games a season and we'll move on from there.

I have team mini helmets of CUSA on the wall of my game room, I was going to replace them one by one with authentic game wore helmets. So glad I didn't start that.
U la la is the best football team in the best recruiting area available.

Me too - though you don't indicate what your differing opinion would be.

I say Lafayette has every bit as good of food as can be found in N.O. --- easily. The number of choices is less but the food itself is every bit as good.

I think that CUSA may need to start taking some MAC teams. Who is left from the WAC to take that is any good?

I've stated a 100 times I would like to be with SMU and Houston. Looks like they are staying in the nBE. There are pros and cons to the NBe. I can't stand that everyone wants out. The mwc will be largely unaffected by the acc and big 10s next moves if they could pull off a mwc 16.

I think Tulsa has an easier path to a bcs bowl in the mwc east. That's an easy division and beating Boise would probably do the trick. Cusa west 2014 is probably a tougher division than the mwc east. La tech, rice, usm, Utep are all tough games. The problem is in the east unless Marshall can win Ooc games and dominate.

I don't think it's possible to hate any school as much as I hate ezu. I can't wait to destroy you guys in Tulsa next year.

I like the usm poster that said just give us our 8 games a year and we will take care of the rest.
The food in Lafayette beats the food in New Orleans.

The football in Lafayette does not beat the football in Jonesboro.

But that's a temporary, cyclical thing. UNM is improving with Bob Davie at the helm and may be bowling as soon as next year. CSU used to have a strong FB team and I'm pretty sure they will be again before long. Wyoming also has good teams fairly often and it is tough to play at their 7k feet altitude. AFA can give anyone fits any year. Tulsa would be one of the best teams in that division right away but I don't think it would be all that easy year in and year out.

I know you pain must have been great for the past two years but you may want to refill your medicines. ECU returns 18 starters (10 offense and 9 defense) and both kickers kickers off of a 8-5/6-1 team.
Also the 6'8" receiver will be back for his senior year......you do remember him? As I remember any time Tulsa plays for any championship and road goes thru ECU the results has not been good for you. Remember.....remember to hate one is to love one and ECU just love Tulsa fans like you two:)
I don't know if I would just assume Tulsa is going anywhere. This NBE is a cluster****. As a Memphis fan, I try my best to stay on top of the current events surrounding the NBE. I am almost certain that our commissioner is just as bewildered as I am regarding what the heck is going to happen. Obviously he knows more than I, but there is no way for him to even tell who is and is not in our league. I think there is a 75% probability that what we see now, will not resemble what we will see a year from now.

I didn't get a chance to say it, and I know nobody really cares, but I am sad to lose some of our old conference mates. I especially hate what is happening to Southern Miss. The football program was the pride of CUSA for many years, and you guys always made us proud. Anybody, anywhere, anytime. I hope the best for all of you, indeed, all of us. This is some messed up chit!

Win! ...+2 for a black and blue fan.....is all shite without real meaning in the end (I do think you guys actually make it through the door...gonna b close though)
Tulsa is going nowhere. But if they do, doubt CUSA expands any more. I still don't understand the allure of the MWC, but good luck to all who go, LMAO.
I just hope ecu doesn't embarrass the conference and lose to u la la again.

At least they will be repping the NBe in the imagination bowl in 2014.
