as of now there are 4 registered users and 33 (!) guests.

That is an extraordinary number for this board. As many as I can remember.

Wonder if Hoopster is one of the guests. Gone incognito.

There is no big new story for which folks might be waiting.

I guess the only stories I'm following are:

1). The last FB A/C coaching slot

2). FB recruiting but that hasn't been hot this year

3). James Still's sentencing is scheduled for today but that story will come out of Providence, R.I.

4). Tomorrow's men bball game but we've posted ad nauseum on what is wrong (or right) with the team, the offense, schedule, etc. Men's hoop recruiting is super quiet.
i'm always curious about a) the count of 'guests' online, and b) the amount of thread views. are they all really people, or are they bots trolling for spam opportunities? it's great to think that there are that many people reading about EMU sports right now. hopefully they all start to post.
Dear steve,
When I first joined this board, you could immediately respond without registering. Then it changed to identifying who you were, before you could respond. When the later occurred, I'm sure anyone who was already a member was shown as a guest, until one signed-in.
Now, it seems we are back to when I first joined, so, members are shown, and everyone else is a guest. The guest number is high though.
That's a weird stat.

Heck, when we got our new coach a couple weeks ago, the board went bananas with users. Higher than normal traffic. I counted like 25 usernames and 35 or so guests.

Possibly explanation for yours....maybe someone linked a thread into another more traveled forum. Say a UMASS fan linked the game thread because one of you said something he/she thought was interesting. Bam...that would generate a couple dozen guests in a hurry.

Could be folks interested in Parrish or maybe Erik Campbell?

I do believe there are folks in sports (do it for a living) who do come to these forums looking if there is a scoop and links to other sources for stories which posters develop.

Could be members of the coaching community. Heck it could be recruits looking for info on recruiting, coaches, etc. etc.

It could be Ball State fans looking for info on EMU for tomorrow's game.
Another thought:

Some of it could be 'stale users'.

Someone who has not logged in but has this page open on one of his/her MANY devices.

E.g., if I'm on my iPad and have this link open on my PC then I might be here as a guest (even though I'm not viewing anything).
