Josh is doing a really good job. 85 wins in 3 1/2 years is a big accomplishment.

That will remain a big monkey on his back until he wins some, but I think that monkey is about to get removed.

I feel it too.

Look, I know we talk about good recruiting classes over and over until we are blue in the face. I am telling you, the class coming in next year coupled with who we have coming back will make for the most talented Memphis teams that has ever been at the program. Not players 1-5, because 07-08 may never be beat, but from a whole team standpoint, next year will be the most talented and deepest in the history of the program.

Except being in CUSA we won't play another ranked team this year.

Maybe he picks up both NCAA tournament wins and wins against ranked teams at the end of this season. I'm holding out hope. Winning 8 of 9 including a nice win @ UTK will start to do that to you.

I'll be back to my dejected self if we lose at UAB. Right now, it's time to keep hope alive.

I be totally stunned if we don't win some games in March.

Much more so that the previous 2 years.

LOL...Thats great. Keep hope alive.
With the amount of talent we have it will be a total disaster to lose in the first round again. I don't think that will happen.

Josh is doing a really good job. 85 wins in 3 1/2 years is a big accomplishment.

And he did it after inheriting a chaotic mess. I think he is the 11th youngest coach in the NCAA and, with time and patience, I believe he will lead us to many victories in the future.
Pastner has done quite well considering the obstacles he had to deal with from the get-go.

I'm fairly confident MEMPHIS will probably finish about 26-5 in the regular season - yes, that's presuming two road losses in the regular season. If they run the table, fantastic, but I don't want to set up "perceptions of failure" should they NOT do it. Even Fredo talked about how hard it was to do back in 2006-07 with the team he had.

Back on point - I then expect MEMPHIS to march through the CUSA Tourney in Tulsa in a similar fashion as Mr. Sherman did during his whirlwind tour of Atlanta 150 years ago.

Then we see how this team fares in the NCAA based on their seeding. I'm hoping a 29-5 final record will be a seeding of 5 or 6 but we will see. There is a legitimate bias against the "non power" conferences.

I tend to agree with JMSTiger that Pastner gets the elusive NCAA win(s) and top 25 victory in mid to late March.

The real test IMHO, though, is next season. Goodbye C-USA and hello for one legitimate season in the Big East. Conference games against Louisville, Villanova, Georgetown, Cincinnati, Temple, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Marquette, St. Johns. Hopefully at least four of these teams come to the FEF. The OOC schedule for sure includes the Old Spice tourney in Orlando. All of it culminates with MEMPHIS' first participation in the *final Big East Tourney in NYC in mid March.

No doubt - the 2013-14 season will show us a lot about Pastner's prowess and growth as the head coach of a top 20 NCAA program. I look forward to him proving his doubters and naysayers wrong.

* I cannot envision Madison Square Garden hosting the Big East Metro Tourney after the Vatican 7 leave along with UL, Rutgers, Notre Dame, etc.
