You would think Stokes was the first basketball player to wear one.
Ill-prepared crew with little to talk about?

Pretty much.

You can tell they've been instructed to shill for the $EC too
When you can't say anything good about basketball you talk about....well, headbands!
Almost the entire Vol team wore headbands when Bruce Pearl was there.
That was one of the worst announced games I've ever watched. I was honestly longing for Wolo. When the refs were correcting the free throw situation they called G Adonis three times. Constantly talking about headbands, incredible defense on both sides, drooling over an average game from Stokes, said DJ played the 2, etc. etc.. Verno and Parrish had an amusing back and forth going about how awful these guys were.
They said quite a few positive things about the Tigers; that was nice.

Well, it was "The SEC on ESPN"

Who was the UT player who was known for headbands a few years back. Dirty player. Was it Slay? or something like that.

They spent the whole game repping JJ; much more than Stokes.
Wasn't Ron Slay, Rodney Carney's brother?

Chism?

Chism is the one I remember.
Chism.
When you have a funnel and a rubber hose you need something to hold them together. What better than a UT headband?

Correct. They made Joe out to be the best point guard in the country. Even though he was not playing the point.

They gushed over us throughout the game saying how we were a different team than the one that played in the Bahamas. etc etc.

They were class B announcers but they were very complimentary.

So the person that brings the ball up the court, stands at the top of the key and signals plays, then initiates the offense and happens to lead the team in assists isn't really playing pg?

I wonder about this place sometimes.
Ron Slay was on of the first that I remember wearing a headband
James Posey.

Ren wore one with the Grizz.

That effin Chism had that thing sitting on the top of his head.
Just an FYI: My son told me he got an promo email that they were giving away free headbands to the first 200 students at last night's game. That was part of he reason I let him go sit with his fellow students.

SteveS and I had just as good seats as they did on the Memphis end of the court!!

My son got to mug for the ESPN cameras numerous times last night.

Just got home and am sitting down to watch my DVR of it now!04-cheers04-rock
