how did they like their accommodations?
The FTL terminal 3 airport floor was acceptable. Neither NIU2010 (who was on same flight...before our connection got canceled) or I were bothered by the other people (few other NIU fans) hanging out.

Nice enough bathrooms and the Dunkin Donuts was open 24hrs so that was nice.
Stayed at the Wydham Wingate in Miramar about 9 miles West. Didn't expect to see too many fans because it's the other way from FTL and South Beach, but it was packed - mainly with NIU folk.

Nice to have met you Steve.
I stayed at the Luaderdale Best Western on 84 a little north of the airport. Wasn't too bad. 10 minutes from the beach and about 30 minutes from the stadium.

same place for me, did you see the freakish green mustang in the parking lot? That was our rental.
Stayed at the Holiday Inn on Miami Beach for free with points I built up over the last year. It was great with access to the beach. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Hollywood Beach Hotels in Hollywood. Worst place I have ever stayed.
Hyatt, downtown Miami. Okay hotel, but no mini-fridge in room, which was annoying, and the alarm clock on the radio didn't work. No major problems. Not walking distance to beaches though. 10 minutes walk to a nice waterfront area with bars/restaurants/shops and lots of yachts. My first day I walked out back of hotel where the river goes past. Few boats going by, some nice ones, but couldn't sit on benches because people were sleeping there.
Got Marriott points gifted to me so stayed at downtown Marriott. The place is gorgeous, the view was amazing, but the people running the place suck. Didn't let the morons ruin the stay, so still had an amazing time.
Holiday Inn Express - "Cruise". 0n 84 in Ft. Lauderdale. 15 min to beach and downtown. Very nice, clean downtown. Impressed with beach area too.
Some student buses were across the street in the Hampton Inn.
Lots of Huskie folks and a few FSU'ers to keep things interesting.
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Dania Beach (pretty close to FT. L airport)
Very nice rooms, very nice & helpful staff. We got to use the hot tub on Sun. night and spent New Years Eve outside on the patio just enjoying being outside on Dec. 31st! Met a few other Huskie fans who joined us. Over all - I would stay there again for sure.
Stayed at Courtyard Ft Lauderdale beach. Nice place, great staff and lots of Huskie fans there...we had a blast.
Stayed at Eden Roc and it was amazing! Best trip ever!
Stayed at Oceanfront Courtyard Miami Beach. Close to Fountainbluea etc and had an oceanfront room. It was okay, but expensive for a Courtyard. There were plenty of NIU fans staying there.
Comfort Suites @ federal and 17th in ftl. 10 minutes from dtn and beaches. However staff was dumb as a box of rocks . Friendly but new since they knew nothing about area.

Elbo room and Dirty Blondes are great. Saw the 1977 lacrosse team founders, some guys from sycamore and a former niu lineman from Fenger and grew up blocks from our house in roseland, even moved out in 1974 too!
Hampton inn hallandale beach(hilton pts)..steak and shake in parking lot was great after the game(24hrs). Also close to beach(went to hollywood board walk on 2 separate days). Also was 7 miles from stadium..

Was there a tall brunette working the front desk?
Ftl Hampton inn city center. Staff was good. Free breakfast was good. Nice short walk to the New Years activities.
First night was Red Carpet Inn by the Fort Lauderdale airport not that great for 50 bucks to sleep for 5 hrs was good enough

The next two night was at a north village vacation rental great place and great place and close to beach and McSorley's which was a great time on NYE

After the game terminal 3 was fine but after my flight was canceled I room crashed at some ok place
Stayed at Embassy Suites at the airport. I've always had good experiences with the ES. Solid free breakfast and free cocktails, clean quiet rooms. We were walking distance from Miami Jai Alai, so got to check out some matches.

Our concierge was a really interesting, determined young Cuban immigrant working multiple jobs while going to school. Kid came in on his own time to arrange transportation to and from the game, and a tour of the everglades for us..

Thumbs up to the Embassy Suites!
