Going a totally-guard-oriented Troy team, it was a bad time for the guard injuries. Right now, Steve looks pretty smart for having given the back-benchers lots of time. We are going to need them.
Great win for the Trojans, but a really bad night for injuries. Both Gillon and Dillard go down with leg injuries. I don't like that situation. Wonder when we'll hear the extent of the injuries? I'm praying they are not serious, but I'm really worried more about Gillon. It looked more serious. But that's just a guess. I'm really afraid John's could be a torn ACL, an if that's the case, he's done for the year in all likelihood. But let's hope it's just a sprain.
Surely they would not have told Jeff two weeks if there were any chance of it being an ACL.
Troy is a little unusual for a team that lives by the 3. They do not have a player averaging double figures, although they have three with at least 9.5.

They really only have two players who can MAKE the 3 this year, although they continue to jack them up regardless. Fully 38.3% of their attempts are from the arc, and the players who have the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th most attempts are averaging respectively 26.0%, 27.7% and 28.8%. Looks like Maestri has no intention of even exploring a Plan B.
Obviously in his mind, Plan B stands for "Boring".
