Although early indications do not imply Florida State fans are as drunk/rude/disorderly as iowa fans, did anyone have any problems in Florida? A friend from LT had her rental car broken into (apparently locals), and I strongly encouraged her to report the incident to the Orange Bowl officials.
I was parked by a bunch of FSU fans. We left to tailgate elsewhere. Returned after the game and the FSU fans had put all there bottles and cans in front my car. Even had bottles place in the wheel well. Surprised I was not keyed. Classy FSU fans.
FSU fans were definitely better as a whole than most big program fanbases I've seen us deal with. Just some standard issue drunk morons here and there is all I personally saw. And everyone has those. But I'm not a tailgate maven.
Anyone here on the board who sat in section 413? There were a couple there toward the top who were relentless and were specifically there to irritate. He started swearing - the "Elite" team came up and did absolutely nothing-LOL. Anyways not surprised, all in all they were a pretty good bunch.
Drunk FSU fan in 117 puked all over herself halfway through the 4th quarter. Her husband let her friend take care of her and stayed to watch the rest of the game.
2 idiots that we fought with and had kicked out in section 218. They were picking fights with NIU fans on purpose. Everyone else in the section was cool. Like any Big Ten stadium, 7% of the FSU fans making the whole bunch look bad. Mostly met nice people.

Herbstreit still a dick, thats a constant throughout the ages.
Worst saw was a very tall NIU fan urinating on an NIU car with Illinois plates about 4 over from the sprinter in lot 10. He was wasted and a big guy an his friend did the same. Oh and not only on the car , but on the window and door handle.

Whomever you are, you are a real low class immature lush a$$hole.

what if he was hammered and that was his car?
And other than other than trying to understand the n fla twang and the inner city vocabulary, no other major issues. Few I met at bars were actually nice.

Then they just an embarrassment to himself and the NIU colors they wore.

Seriously , what kind of question is that?

You pi$$ on door handles too 10 feet from people , or was it you?
Had a great experience with the few NIU fans I met. Seemed like a classy bunch. Was impressed with the number of folks y'all brought down and the noise level they generated. That's what it takes to sustain a big time program and it looks like you've got it.

Hopefully no one had too terrible of an experience with fsu fans. I'd like to think Florida State has a very friendly fan base but there are certainly a few that can give us a bad name (mostly Miami/south Florida people).
FSU fans sitting right next to me were great people. Very complimentary of NIU the entire game. They couldn't believe Lynch' stats when I showed them on my phone.
The ones behind me.. completely different story. So unbelievably annoying. Group of teenagers with their dad. I am one who likes to stand up and cheer when my team does well. They did not like that apparently. FSU fans next to me told them to "Shut the **** up" about halfway through the 1st qtr though. They got up, left and returned sometime in the third quarter. Must've gotten spanked and put in timeout by their dad.

Best part.. Novak was sitting in a box behind my section. Took a picture of him, and one of the guys asked "who the hell is that". I simply explained to him that he was basically the Bobby Bowden of NIU football. His response... "Who is Bobby Bowden"

And no, I did not pee on a car in Lot 10.

Hmm... this is interesting. I was in that general area the whole time. I do remember meeting you and your buddy John with the white Haldi jersey on. I was the one with the Burner jesey (the only one, ha!). No, but we were the ones with that red cooler of mixed orange/peach whatever drink that was! But yeah, that's a prick move, no doubt about it.
I was up in 423. Had good convos with a few FSU fans. There were two guys a few rows behind me in Florida colors cheering for NIU. Somebody around them puked and they left.

Sat next to a woman for the whole first-half. I couldn't understand her ranting on FSU half the time, but she wasn't mean.

I moved to the 43-something section for the second half. One fan booed after I cheered Martell's TD. I told him to calm down, it was their probably their only score the rest of the night. Sadly, I was right.

Other than that, I had no issues. That tomahawk chant is offensive to me, and I'm not a Native American.
All the FSU fans that I met were pretty cool. I tailgated with them in the yellow section parking and they were very nice. they even offered me some food. I sat by 2 female FSU fans (early 20's) and they were alright, spent more time talking girl talk than watching the game but they were respectful toward NIU.

+1 Illinois does it too. Very annoying and offensive.

The Seminole tribe of Florida seems to be ok with it... Smh
I don't think it's offensive...just unoriginal which might be the most offensive thing about it.

Please explain to me how it's unoriginal

Interesting...I always thought FSU stole it from the Braves but it appears its the other way around.
