Arkansas State fan here to say that I hope NIU kicks the everloving arrogant crap out of FSU tonight! Our coach helped strike a blow for all of us against Oklahoma several years ago and it is NIU's turn.
Hell yeah! This is going to be a TOUGH game to win -- FSU is not overlooking NIU, nor is it a situation where they wouldn't or be "blah". They are pumped to beat NIU as a team -- which is GOOD, if NIU beats them (or even makes it a barn-burner).

Orange Bowl rep to NIU: "We didn't even want you here." My blog http://cbsprt.co/U5Op2A

I hope NIU kicks their ass
NIU's lockerroom bulletin board should be overflowing with an unprecedented amount of material.

Even a decent loss (say within 3-10 points) would be a good showing and proves they belonged. I just hope the Huskies don't get blown out, or ESPN will be unreadable/unwatchable.
the dukes of james madison are rooting for northern illinois tonight! make us proud, make herbstreit look like the idiot that he is!
For tonight this Ball State fan is wearing an NIU Orange Bowl shirt and is 100% behind the Huskies - win one for NIU and the MAC!

Glad you haven't forgotten us and still have some MAC pride.
Cheers 04-cheers
Of course, crybaby Herbstreit just said during the Rose Bowl that the game will come down to whether or not FSU is interested or not...

But on a positive note, get ready for some MACtion! You guys can do it, beat the Noles like there's no tomorrow. I'll be cheering them on as if it were Miami that were there.

Well, at least Herbstreit is consistent. A consistent ass.

I heard that comment as well. For such a seemingly bright guy, hard to understand how he doesn't get it that he comes off as an idiot when he says these type things. Thank God he's not calling the NIU-FSU game tonight!

First of all he is an ESPN minion who is not allowed to think for himself. Now that Dan Patrick no longer works for ESPN he admits that ESPN employees are handed a scripted agenda with whatever suits ESPN.

Secondly, Herbstreit went to Ohio State, what do you expect??

I never caught that Dan Patrick openly admitted that ESPN employees are told what to say and aren't really given the ability to form their own opinions and personal commentary.
Dan Patrick is supposed to be a really nice guy in person too, I went to high school with his niece.
UMass rooting for NIU along with the rest of MACnation. Go Huskies and show them some MACation!
Go Huskies! You might shock the world, but you won't shock the MAC. You are good enough to win this.
How Herbie can rag on NIU while calling a Rose Bowl game with a team whose final record is 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the BIG while keeping a straight face is beyond me.

GO HUSKIES!
