UAB has two more OOC games - Georgia Southern (home) and Dayton (away). Then C-USA play begins, and the league didn't do UAB any favors with the beginning of the C-USA schedule - at UCF, home for Memphis, and at Southern Miss. Those three teams are arguably the top three teams in the conference. Right now Tulane and UTEP would also have to be considered top teams.
At any rate, here are the projections from KenPom.com for the next five games. I hope you are sitting down.
Georgia Southern: UAB wins 74-61. 88% probability of a UAB victory.
At Dayton: UAB loses 81-69. 17% probability of a UAB victory.
At UCF: UAB loses 77-69. 26% probability of a UAB victory.
Memphis: UAB loses 77-72. 32% probability of a UAB victory.
At USM: UAB loses 76-65. 17% probability of a UAB victory.
So, UAB has three difficult road games and one difficult home game over the course of the next five games. This could be the defining stretch of the season.
And don't count the Georgia Southern game as a sure win, as they did upset Virginia Tech on the road.
