Maybe I am getting too down, but looking at the last 14 games of the season makes me think that the Bearcats really have to win at home this Saturday against Syracuse to continue to prove to themselves that they will be okay down the brutal stretch of Big East conference play.

Before Kirkland got hurt, I viewed this as a tough game that we very well could or even should win, not sure what to think now 03-weeping

The Bearcats seem to be plenty motivated this year since the home Dayton loss, so I would expect them to continue playing hard each game. South Florida is no deeper than our new Bearcats team, and their players on the floor can't compare talent wise to the Bearcats IMO. They have played both West Virginia and Syracuse very tough recently before losing, so maybe there is hope for the wheels not to blow off completely.

I have these horrifying visions of a one time 13-2 Bearcats team that just got into the poll dropping to not make the Big East conference tournament.
I'll just be happy if they can make it through the season with enough players to field a team.

They still have some pretty talented players, but Kennedy will likely have to adjust the playing style to account for it. The adjusting of our style may ultimately be the undoing more than just the bodies issue because our players may not be the type that are suited to the game required with few numbers.
i dont think its a must win, but this roster sure is thin. where is coleman and herrera?
I think every home game is key at this point...and its important we have a loud and full crowd who can give some energy to these guys....as we all know they are going to be exhausted after every game.

We have to win the majority of our home games and pick up some wins on the road. If we don't finish at least .500 in the conference we are NIT bound.

Considering all that has happened, would that be such a bad thing?

Having a mindset that the season is over and that we can't get .500, in conference, is a bad thing. This team and fans need to get it together and move ahead.

Agree, but the Syracuse game is huge IMO because dropping to 2-2 in conference play at home against anybody not named UCONN or Villanova is not good given what remains ahead.

I agree - I'm just saying I'll understand if UC does not make it to the NCAA tournament. I expect them to give their all and I have not given up on them.

Sounds good bearcatfan. Sorry if I misinterpreted anything. Just that there are too many people acting as if the sky is falling. We just need to band together, Nancy/BOT excluded, and move foward. What a story it would be if a team with eight scholorship players made it to the tourny. Boy would x be embarrassed when we beat them with eight scholly's, an interim coach, and a light coaching staff.
It is a must win....

Um.....ah yea...we could really use Banks, Evans, Herrera, Coleman, and Johnson about now..........

Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
