No video, sorry :(

Should be a interesting game, Wichita has another good squad and will likely go dancing again.
Give 'em hell USM
Tied at 5, 14 mins left in first half.
Under 12 timeout, USM up 9-5.
Team knows how to play D
UAB has never done well at Wichita State - never!
Three of WSU's starting five are out with injuries. Fortunately for them, they have decent depth.
28-17 USM at the half.
34-25 USM, less than 16 mins to go.
WTH is going on?!? Now it's just a one-point lead.
Yikes
Missouri Valley is on it this year. Looks like they will have multiple bids.

Looks like Wichita's big dreadlock guy with glasses didn't play tonight. He's a beast!

Creighton and Wichita State are legit Top 25-type teams. The Missouri Valley knows how to hoop. But no football. That's why Tulsa left.
Missouri Valley is small potatoes now. Look at the teams that used to be in it but left, like Cincy, Louisville, Memphis, Houston, OK St. Even NT left for better digs. IMO we should have left immediately when Wichita St dropped CFB - a mistake they evidently have regretted since then - at least a lot of their fans have. Too bad. They might have been in the conversation for the new CUSA or Sunblet now the way things are playing out.

I don't think that Wichita State football ever fully recovered from its plane crash that took the lives of almost half the team. I think that crash occurred in the same season as the Marshall crash. They struggled to be competitive prior to the crash but really had a hard time afterwards.

Yes thats correct. They never fully recovered, but evidently didn't have the desire to retain the FB program like Marshall.

Wichita is actually a good place to have a CFB program because of its unique location. There isn't any nearby CFB prorgrams to compete with if they decided to start one. It has a lot of decent HS programs for recruiting and WSU has a decent venue at Shocker Stadium (30,000) that they just run track on now.

I've never understood why a school that has a good sports program like them wouldn't at least consider a CFB team again and put it in the Missouri Valley FB conference along with several decent D-II schools like SIU, Illinois St, Missouri St, N Iowa etc. Then if they were successful, they could ponder the next step.

You may see WSU reconsider football about 5 years from now. It may be too late for any major moves, but the new president I believe has it on his agenda. He wants to grow the student enrollment 5-10k and when progress is made there, he may look into it. Lew Perkins is an idiot for dropping football when he did. He took the easy way out and we paid for it.
