Lol generally agree
My take is this country is ****** up. Instead of trying to keep guns out of hands of people who shouldn't have them and limiting the number of rounds in a clip(like many civilized countries have tried to do), people like the wise one GTS say "MORE GUNS IS THE SOLUTION!". Arm the teachers, teach the children to use guns and increase the numbers of people carrying guns(people won't commit crimes if people are carrying in society). 01-wingedeagle I just have to question how mentally stable someone with the GTS beliefs is? THis isn't a video game. Real lives are at stake.

We could have a Newton every day and it would take millenia to catch up to the murders perpetrated by governments -- even our own -- in the last decade. I can't find liberal op-eds calling for GOVERNMENT gun control after the Kent State massacre. I don't see you crying over the "collateral damage" of kids eating hellfire missiles from drones your butt buddy Obama sends out. Or, in my best Roberta absurdity voice, do they not count because they're brown people?

If you had a Newton every day, it would take you 10.9 years to catch up to just our own government's damage in one country. And I'm not even bringing in the crazies of the world yet like African genocide.

You don't want to go here Robert. Providing meaningful context makes you look like an ever bigger tool than you already are.
Quoting Micheal Moore..

"Pehaps if the Mrs. Lanza had guns in her home, she could have stopped this awful tragedy from happening"

Why are you trying to deflect from the truth?

Perhaps if the state of Connecticut refused to sell him a gun they could have stopped this awful tragedy from happening.

Actually, they were his mother's guns(she had 6 of them). Try again.

Well, that make your post even more rediculous.

1) Obama killing far more kids with drones
2) Government killing far more people in general ... even those in schools a la Kent State.
3) Your odds of being killed by a gun (including suicide and police and military) are several times lower than your odds of being killed by medical malpractice. You don't want to ban the medical practice though?
4) Your odds of being murdered by a gun are several times lower than your odds of being murdered by a baseball bat. You don't want to ban baseball bats though?
5) Your odds of being murdered on a school by a gun are several times lower than dieing in your bathtub. You don't want to ban bathtubs though?
6) Your odds of being murdered by a gun a several times lower than death from motorvehicle. You don't want to ban cars though?

You answer for your blatantly contradictory views and then we'll continue.

******* you're ******* mentally blind. He wasn't legally allowed to get a gun due to CT's already existing gun laws. Yet he acquired one anyway. He stole it. It happened to be stolen from his mother. And you're too goddamned blind to make the logical leap of a nanometer to see he could have just as easily stolen it from ANYBODY ELSE. From a store. From a car. From a home. Purchased off a black market just like narcotics. UH DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
It's time to stop blaming guns or the lack of gun laws or the lack of more guns and start having a conversation about what is really at the heart of this problem.

The problem is that there is something wrong with America. We are one of the most wealth countries in the world and yet we are one of the most violent.

There is something terribly wrong with our culture.

Um, do you even read what you write?

(12-17-2012 11:11 AM)georgia_tech_swagger Wrote: [ -> ]1) Obama killing far more kids with drones

Wrong. Anyone killed by Obama's drones are militants by default.

Quote:2) Government killing far more people in general ... even those in schools a la Kent State.

Robert doesn't think gov't should be subjected to the same laws as regular citizens.

Quote:3) Your odds of being killed by a gun (including suicide and police and military) are several times lower than your odds of being killed by medical malpractice. You don't want to ban the medical practice though?

No, he just wants profits made from medical practice banned.

Quote:4) Your odds of being murdered by a gun are several times lower than your odds of being murdered by a baseball bat. You don't want to ban baseball bats though?

Since we all know terrorists hate us for our way of life (not the civilians unknowing militants we kill), banning baseball bats might make them hate us less.

Quote:5) Your odds of being murdered on a school by a gun are several times lower than dieing in your bathtub. You don't want to ban bathtubs though?

I'm sure Robert would like that. Cutting down on water usage will "save the planet." It would also give Robert a convenient excuse to be too lazy to bathe.

Quote:6) Your odds of being murdered by a gun a several times lower than death from motorvehicle. You don't want to ban cars though?

That would drastically reduce emissions, thus "saving the planet" even MORE. Plus, it would stop Robert from having to be jealous of people who can afford better than whatever old jalopy he probably drives (if he has a car at all).

Well, given that this country made a lot of it's wealth through violence, is it any wonder where people get the notion that violence solves our problems?
