Bill Hancock, the BCS executive director, told CBSSports.com it is “premature and inappropriate” to determine whether the 12 remaining Big East football schools will receive an automatic bid in 2013.

The BE will get the bid if it is still in existence. The BCS could not drop the bid because 7 catholic basketball schools left the conference. (they could try, it would be costly.)
Of course it's uncertain. If by some chance UConn, Louisville, Boise, and Cincy (all previous BCS participants) aren't part of it next year (and all indications so far point to them being a part of the BE for at least one year), then I have to think the BCS committee would reevaluate. Until then, I think as long as those four are in a football conference called the Big East, then there won't be any issue.
ummm the 2013 BCS bid was awarded to Louisville wasn't it?? or do they mean the 2014 bid (for the 2013 season)...

That said, considering that 4 of the last 5 Big East BCS reps will still be in the conference next year and its possible multiple BCS appearance Boise State could also be in the mix, I find it very unlikely that they'd remove the Big East's final AQ bid. If they do, then its just to squash all the have nots.
They would get their butts sued so fast Ty heads would spin. What do basketball teams do to affect BCS football AQ status. If they are smart they will let it ride for one year.
Its a signed deal in the last year. It isnt getting changed. The Big East will have a BCS AQ slot unless the Big East is dissolved or doesnt sponsor football next year, which is likley what the guy was implying.
Even if the BE dissolves (probably not), it won't happen until 2014+.
OP is misleading due to trolling. Article goes on to cite unnamed BCS officials as saying no reason to think they wouldn't get the slot.
They probably thought that UCF would go undefeated but would be ineligible, without realizing there are a lot of other good teams coming into the conference. Honest mistake.
Nothing to see. Most of the article seemed to say there was no reason it wouldn't happen.
