Florida Gulf Coast 76 FIU 73
Belmont 64 MTSU 49

Those results are only mildly embarrassing. But losses to 2 SWAC teams take the cake:

Alabama State 74 Troy 68

and then in Monroe, Southern 68 ULM 39. Losing by 30 at home to a SWAC team. Now that's impressive.

Belmont, as we find out the hard way, is a very, very good team. However, if the game was played at MTSU, the score is more disturbing.

FIU and Troy are just not any good. Even though we struggled to beat Troy at home. (That's not a good sign.) And home losses to the SWAC schools really takes the cake. Especially an almost 30 point loss. Wow!
As I posted on the Haven....

Nonconference games should be included in conference standings.
If non-con games count, we ain't playing Cinci, Ole Miss and USC no more. The teams with 300-plus RPI's are gonna get bought early and often. We want make that EXPECT our banners. :)
FGCU also beat Miami. No, not the Miami in Ohio either. Granted Miami was without their superstar player.
Is Brian Crislip still playing for Florida Gulf Coast? This would be about his 15th season woudln't it?

I know Belmont is tough. Still, MTSU was picked to win the Sun Belt and lost by double figures. So it is, at least, mildly embarrassing for the league.
