The breakaway 7, the searching 4, and the newly acquired 9, will all have different priorities (dissolve vs. get out vs. hang-on), and that will create an unbalanced board.

As teams announced their future conference, their schools were moved to the new forum. Where can these schools be placed for now?

Tough situation for them. I saw most of this coming, but now feel bad for the position they're in.
purgatory, they can rival the catholics
The conference realignment board is their purgatory.
WarTornRuston dominated that board talking about "the CUSA/MWC turds".
Scout or rivals.
Anywhere but here.

Because all they'll be doing is CLOGGING up the board!05-stirthepot
The Phantom Zone.

Who cares all the Greedy Bas@#$%S are getting what they deserve. I don't feel bad for any of them. They are without a conference, without bowl contracts, without an autobid, without a home.
All of our AD's/Presidents are greedy mofo's and would've done the same as the teams that left, ALL OF THEM. I say let everyone stay here, we're all still conference brothers, at least for the time being. When it changes, then change it.

But the BE hasn't been dead for a while. No need to be petty. The thread title is where do they go, board wise. That's all I'm saying, they're still in the conference, whether they like it or not, no need to sequester any fans. Not one team, not one, hasn't moved from a conference hoping to better themselves, so I believe there's no need for hypocrisy here. If they want to bolt, so be it.
lol - such envy on this board.

Any way you slice this - it's still an upgrade in both hoops and football for the recently departed CUSA schools. Trading UTEP for UCONN and USM for USF is a positive move. No smack - the numbers back it up. It's not like being called "worse than UCONN" is a huge insult anyway. Regular appearances on the "Bottom 10" - that's an insult.

Boise and SDSU have a more questionable future - and this thread and others like it would make sense maybe on a MWC board. But it's not like any of us defectors chose the Big East over an SEC invite. The status quo just added Charlotte who doesn't even field a team yet.

It is what it is what it is. Good luck to you - hope you guys achieve something worth posting about instead of our situation. You may be kicking us while we are down - but even when we are down, we are still in a better position than you right now. It's not a point that I would normally call out, but it fits nicely in threads like these.
Lotta Miners here that think they aren't in limbo, too.

The title was referring to the individual schools being assigned to a conference board. Defector school boards are sitting in the Big East Conference Forum (not CUSA's). There is a significant rift on that board based on the views of the 3 groups. I was asking where they could have their individual school forums placed.

The rest of this thread just took on a life of its own.

UTEP is not left without a conference. Not ideal, but a conference nonetheless.

UCONN will be gone. Temple and Cincinnati probably are figuring an exit strategy and why would prestigious Navy want any part of this now?

I see what you did there. +2

But if the Big East blows up, UTEP is very much in limbo, let's be real.

VB Im not so sure Dr Kopp and Mike Hamrick would have. Mike for the past 2 years has been spot on with the exception of Louisville. He was spot on with ND to the ACC, when Woody, and both Chuck's thought it would be the B10. He said the BE Basketball would leave in the next 3 years, about 6 months ago. Well it lasted all of 5 days when ECU and Tulane came on board.

There are no teams in limbo and I don't feel bad for them at all. Their administrators made these decisions and knew what could potentially happen.
