This guy has been about as vocal as Herbstreit over the past week and a half, seems like he is of the Jay Mariotti school of journalism.
A gift we don't deserve:

"The Huskies have had a lovely season, but the BCS threw them a bone they don’t truly deserve."

Who wants to start a thank-you letter to the BCS?

I love this comment:

"Northern Illinois has massive motivation to prove itself on the big stage, but also has no coach after Dave Doeren fled for North Carolina State. "

Yep, Pat, DD left and we have no coach. Oh, woe is us! Our only prayer is if DD reads this and comes back to coach us for this one game.

Who in the hell is this Forde a-hole?

The BCS threw a bone to the Huskies. I get it. Boy, that's hillarious!

He's a funny guy. He should be a comedian.
This guy use to be on ESPN im sure him and herbie are best buddies
Pat Forde is an idiot. The only "bone' the BCS threw us was not making us play a crappy team like Wisconsin or Louisville.
it's funny that one of the only few things Herbie has linked to on his twitter account was a Forde column.

haha yeah I noticed that too, love at first sight.
If you think about it, 90% of the **** we caught from the national media was because of the one point loss to Iowa. If we win that game there still would have been discussion on whether we deserve a BCS game but they also would have said we can't help who's on our schedule, we took care of business, BCS rules are what they are, etc.. There would have been much less criticism. That two point difference (from a one point loss to a one point win, let's say we won on a safety on the last play of the game) caused the dumpfest that ensued.

I hope the brain-dead media idiots keep piling on us. The more publicity, the better. Plus, it makes them look even more stupid (if that's even possible) and it makes some closet NIU supporters come out of the closet to our defense. Bring it on, media morons!!! 04-rock

As you know, in Week 1 a team is as good as it is ever going to get for the rest of the year. After a quarterback gets his first career start, he will never improve. There is no way the Huskies could get any better until Week 1 2013.

Not to mention that an entire offensive line making their first career starts (including 3 who had never seen the field at all before), cannot possibly improve as the season goes along.
Jordan Lynch starting the first game of his career. yes he played in spurts in 2011 but never started.

Just love and pray for more egomaniacle negativity from the supposed sports pundits. Bring it on because it will be posted often and tweeted till OB gametime
This is coming from the same crowd that said that Boise had no chance beating Oklahoma, that Wisconsin would run all over TCU and that Alabama would roll Utah out of the Sugar Bowl. They've been wrong 3 out of 4 so far. Let's make it 4 out of 5.

I honestly dont think winning Iowa would have changed the ESPN reaction. They would have focused more on only beating Kansas by 7. Why is ESPN not equally outraged a FIVE loss Wisconsin team who lost to MSU (who lost to Iowa) is in a BCS bowl?
I would think that E$PN would be equally outraged that Louisville is in a BCS bowl. They didn't play a tough schedule either.
