Swap Navy/ECU and BYU for Tulane and you are on the money.
Assuming you can get UNLV, Fresno, NM which is a huge IF.

I don't think it is realistic for BYU to join since the television contract this hypothetical conference would demand would not be enough. I've never been a fan of adding the academies since their mission is completely different from the rest of the schools in the conference.

CSU Fresno and UNLV wouldn't be hard to get. They were fully on board for the "merger" which wasn't as good as this conference will be. Who wants UNM anyway?

03-lmfao All three of these schools would jump at the chance to join this conference.

You'd be surprised what an all sport invite to a national conference could do.

We would auto reply with a "YES PLEASE LET US IN!!!" and James is right BYU and Navy would have to take Tulane and ECU's place.

I know very little about UNM's football program, is UNLV hands down a better addition?

Perhaps, it is certainly worth gauging their interest...obviously BYU would be a home run addition.

They are both awful football programs but UNLV brings better potential and better basketball.

People on the MWC board are suffering from butthurt syndrome. Their schools' administrators aren't.

UNLV football is a steaming pile. However, UNLV is inching ever closer to building an on-campus domed stadium/entertainment complex just off The Strip. Plus, Clark County, NV alone has half as many people as the entire state of New Mexico and UNM football is also dog manure. In sum, UNLV football might have potential but UNM football has none.
I imagine Navy will prefer to stay independent.

If they actually dissolve the conference....building a new one will be tough. Eight years until you get an NCAA bid.

The only option is to utilize the WAC. Tell the teams that we will give them 1 media share to split among themsleves. Thats more than twice what they ever would earned.

They modified that rule to save the WAC. They would modify it to help out all of the NBE teams left in a lurch.

It would be the NCAA making the call, not ESPN.

Ah, well that settles it then, the MWCBoard has spoken.
