No clue who it's going to be, hopefully Hodge picks someone good. Whoever we get needs to have a strong background in fundraising - we've gotten donors like Armstrong and Farmer to pour money into our academic facilities, now we need to hit some people up for athletics. Then again, getting winning coaches to come (and hopefully stay) here is the easiest way to open up checkbooks...

What happened to the honorable Brad Bates?
AD at Boston College.
He got a substantial raise too - old AD at BC made $600,000, Bates made under $200,000, plus incentives.
Press conference going on as we speak, available on muredhawks.edu
Quote:Sayler resigns; Herbster named interim A.D. at USD

12/13/2012 - General Release

VERMILLION, S.D. - The University of South Dakota announced today that Athletic Director David Sayler has resigned to accept the same position at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. David Herbster, who has been with the University of South Dakota since 2007, has been named interim A.D
Saylor has a background in accounting, and apparently he had a lot of success in developing the facilities at USD and while he was the interim AD at Rice. Spent two years at Oregon State and four at BG before that, went to college at Ohio Wesleyan. Been hard to judge USD's success under his tenure, they're fresh on a transition from Division II.

Interestingly, Saylor followed the current KSU AD, Joel Nielsen, at USD. Has been in the big chair at USD for about 3 years.

IMO, Nielsen has done a fantastic job at KSU. He's smart, competitive and aggressive- all qualities needed to land our new FB HC. Hope Saylor brings the same ind of skill to MU.
