USA Today has a nice, researched (to me, that means the writer talked to someone who knows something others do not know) article on the $ from those bowls.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nca...s/1762709/

"The five so-called "power" conferences – the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC – will split approximately 71.5 percent of the annual revenue, after expenses and other payouts. Although it's difficult to estimate because of the escalating contract, on average that figure could approach $250 million a year. The "Group of Five" conferences – Big East, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt – will split 27 percent, which could approach $95 million annually."

Assuming each conference gets an equal share (who knows how it will shake out) but 1/5 of 95M equals 19M. 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana

And a little speculation on my part, namely, the MAC keeps some for bowl support and other purposes, and could still distribute 1M per school per year.

That would really help some budgets.
A related footnote:

I saw an article in some online paper that the MAC presidents have already voted to distribute funds to each school from this year's BCS monies.

Assume that would be north of 500K per school and independent of what NIU will get.
