This is the stud QB from Texas that's been rumored for awhile. Hopefully he lives up to the billing.
Very interesting. How many QB's will UAB carry next season?

Welcome to UAB, Jeremiah.

I'm guessing a couple less QB's including our graduating QB.
The film I watched of him looks really good. He is big and can hit the throws. He also was able to buy time in the pocket and make some great throws under pressure.

I would be concerned about a coach saying "he did pretty well for us," but compared to Andrew Luck, a really good QB can look ordinary.

I have high hopes that this guy fits McGee's idea of the kind of QB we need.

Welcome to UAB, Jeremiah!!
Another freshman QB added to the spring practice mix. At 6'4" and 215lb, he has the size we need to run our offense. The fact that his coach even mentions him in a favorable comparison with Andrew Luck (whom he also coached if I read the article correctly) is a very promising evaluation.

Now, if only we can get that size in a RB..........

Right now, we have Austin Brown, who is having surgery, the jilted Jonathan Perry, who may still transfer, and Briscoe.

There are no others with the team that I know of. So, we had better try to find another QB or two, maybe a JUCO guy and a walk-on?
Craft & Greer & Miller?
This will be very interesting. Greer has redshirted, Brown has a year of experience now, and Briscoe is coming in. Will he redshirt? Also, will we be playing 2013 with another RS Freshman starting QB in Greer, or grayshirt in Briscoe?

As the Stache turns...

How will the 6 QBs rank in class standing for 2013?
I would guess that Briscoe & Brown at least will be battling for the top spot.

Without speculating too much, looks like there will be a few less QB's than I have counted.

We will leave it at that right now apparently, since some may not want to release info right now.
Welcome to UAB, Jeremiah! Great name 03-wink

I could see Perry transferring but I really didn't consider that someone else might leave. I know Bento is a Senior. Guess we'll find out at spring practice.
Yep or at least at the end of the semester.

SMH
If we're going to recruit a QB, I like the idea of going to Texas to get one. A lot of the really good ones over the last fews years have come from there.
Due to the athleticism that a modern QB usually has, it is always a possibility that a couple can be moved to alternative positions for the spring practice. It will depend upon what they WANT to do to get onto the field rather than "ride the pine" during the season. RB, WR and defense are often chosen to get into the starting lineup (see the Chelsea QB).
Things that make you go hmmmmmm....
