After the embarrassment Butch Jones has been this week he needs to go. Hopefully at this point TN will take him off of our hands. We need someone who wants to be here and who will truly "Represent the C".

DO We really know if Butch is visiting Tennessee? anything official or is it just speculating?

Guys calm the eff down before we start looking a bunch of WVU fans. It looks bad right now but let's at least give it a few hours and hopefully an explanation one way or another before we start calling a guy profane names etc.

None of us have a clue whats really going on. At this stage I'm more pissed at our administration for not offering some info to the fans on where things stand.

If we are going all the way to WVU fan on the meltdown spectrum, let's embrace it. Knock out a couple of teeth, kiss your cousin and start burning a few couches.

Butch is gone. He has been flying all over the country trying to get the best offer. BK wanted ND. Butch is looking for the highest bidder. Funny thing is the Tennessee fans don't want him. He was one of the few coaches Dooley out coached

At first I gave Butch the benefit of the doubt, but he has had ample time to commit to the program and he hasn't. He is being a wh(ore. peace out Butch.

I get the angst but this is still a bush league thread fellas. We are better fans than this.

That's what's ironic...leaving a place where he is (was) wanted for one where he isn't.

How do we go from "we need some stability" to "FIRE THIS GUY!" in like 36 hours? No one is going to remember this week in the grand scheme of things. Stop having your feelings hurt by a guy who has only helped this program who is maybe looking out for himself this one time. If he's gone, he's gone; if he's here, he's here, we will still be playing football next fall in Clifton.

At least we get some good buyout cash right?

That keeps it all in perspective. Here's what we can be sure of:
1. The University of Cincinnati will be here next year
2. It will have a football team
3. Most of the same players from this year's team will play on next year's team
4. The team will have a head coach and assistant coaches.
5. The head coach and the assistant coaches will each know more about football than anyone on this board.

The way things are going for UC, Jones will accept the Tennessee job on January 2 (after the buyout clause expires), and we will be out another $1.3 Million. Maybe Whit will bring back Rick Minter to coach in the Belk Bowl (at least Minter had some loyalty to UC, even if nobody else wanted him). Jones has made an hypocrite of himself over the last week, a very public contradiction of what he supposedly represents. Regrettably, with three successful coaches leaving UC in 9 years, what does that say about our program?

Didn't Florida International just fire Mario Cristobal pretty much on the same principles. Last year he was rumored for every coaching vacancy under the sun. He had a bad record this year, but got FIU into a few bowl games. My point is the FIU got tired of his constant flirting with other schools they just go rid of him.

The important thing in this whole situation should be that if upgrades don't happen right ******* now then don't even bother with a football team in the future. That's what I want to see Ono commit to otherwise we'll be having this same conversation about coach ______ 3 years from now.

So just out of curiosity suppose we and Butch wake up tomorrow morning to find that Kirby Smart is the HC of UT, maybe because they used Butch as a smokescreen or the big donors were so pissed about Butch getting the job that they pulled the offer, lest they loose big bucks.
What happens then? Does Butch come back like nothing happened? After the big national job tour, has he lost the players? Like we've seen in other places, when the players quit on you, you're sunk.

I mean that is all well and good to say, except....

Where exactly is the money coming from?

We got a mega rich booster hiding somewhere I dont know about?

We gonna get a big kickBack from the tv deal the Big Least is going to sign?

Or is the huge fanbase and alumni association going to pour in mega donations?

It's not going to happen. UC can only do so much. Going to need some more dominos to fall before we see any movement on that front.
