Why is this guy still getting a pass? Her inherited a bad situation? Cry me a river, he gets paid over a million dollars a year to deal with bad situations and strive despite them.

Lets look at report card since arrival.

Much anticipated Big East TV deal: F - no deal signed and getting less valuable every hour
Conference Stability: D - im sure he wasnt told the whole truth by some presidents, but I am also sure the lack of TV deal is a factor
Increase Big East Brand: F - actually has decreased, and again continues to fall by the hour
Collect Exit Fees to desperse to pograms who did stick around: F - by all reports we have seen no money from that, Rutgers claims in a lawsuit nothign has been collected
Talk a good game: B+ - clearly the guy says what he has too, reminds me a lot of the guy who lead the charge to hire him, one of the only people actually committed to the Big East and did a lot more talking that accomplishing.

Not trying to be negative but look at it. We are in a worse situation today than when he was hired. No one knows for sure but there is a chance we could end up with the same TV money that we currently have. TV money, which the athletic department is resting their sole hopes and dreams on for improvement does not look like its going to be overly lucrative at all.

Forgive some fans if they are not a bit disapointed by a guy making that kind of money and utterly producing nothing but more quotes and rah rah statements about the big east. Clearly the frustration is compounded by the fact we are stuck in the conference but that brings up some other peoples report cards we dont want to bring home to mommy.
Did you really expect the TV deal to be done by now?

Especially since teams have left. Who knows - he may have been making great progress until Rutgers left. Then he may have rebounded from that and Louisville left.
I think the big issue is the B1G 10. I think had the Big 10 not done what they did we could be looking at this far differently. I wish we had hired an ambitious commissioner 5 years ago. He may have been to convince the other teams to hold together because the TV was going to outdue the ACC. He got here late in the game and the Big 10 was ready to make a move that absolutely was the straw that broke the Big East's back.
Losing Rutgers and Louisville hurts. The guy has been given a dam near impossible mission. Hopefully the Big East
loses Cincinnati soon.

I think its the whole picture, the fact that at all aspects we are scrambling and begging and praying
Anything less than $8 million per school with our without Cincinnati is huge failure for him and the conference.

New deal per CBS could be around $4mil for full members according to some twitter reports.

I mean you have to laugh to keep from crying considering out athletic department was expecting $12million plus...$4million is basically what we get now...so much for that financial windfall to allow for facility upgrades...wont even pay for coach Cronins raise after our NC this year
I thought we got around 6 mil per year?
It gets back to the Big 10, ACC, etc seeing what the Big East was potentially going to get. In my opinion, they said "hey - that's OUR money", took Pitt, Cuse, Rutgers, and UofL, and now it will be their money.

I think 6.8.

There isn't a bball and football program as successful as UC getting paid
below market as much as UC.
UC wins the national basketball championship or even gets to the Final Four and it will help heighten our attractiveness to the ACC or the Big 12. I prefer the ACC due to on-going east coast exposure and continuation of rivalries with UofL, Pitt, 'Cuse, VA Tech and likely, UCONN.
