Those are not accurate numbers for us. I don't know what the number actually is, but it's nowhere close to that high.
yes we know the vibes in East Carolina is crap bowl, ooh la la, how did we get in a sun belt bowl, etc. we know we know.

Yes and no. Sure there is some of that, but in general other than a few mouthy message board posters that isn't the issue. The issue is the bowl date and $500 a person flights. I really want to go but can't make it work from a date and cost perspective. Almost all of the ECU fans that want to go but can't will be because of those reasons and not those things you mentioned.

Carpool. or Buspool I should say. Seems to be working wonders for Northern Illinois and Western Kentucky.

New Orleans is a great city. The boosters and athletic foundation or very excited fans at ECU should try that route. I believe NIU is finding success in quadruple occupancy hotel rooms.

There will be several thousand ECU fans there who will be having a hell of a time in New Orleans. A little hard to compare NIU's situation to this bowl for ECU though. Also while I don't think we are going to bring 8k we'll be represented. There will be more ECU fans in the dome than Tulane fans for their home games. 04-cheers

(12-07-2012 07:52 AM)CajunExpress Wrote: [ -> ]According to Daily Advertiser beat writer Tim Buckley, the most up to date numbers for UL is over 14k.

NO Bowl Exec Director Billy Fannetti said on the Cajun Redzone radio show last night that the last estimate from UL was between 17,000 to 18,000. Coach Hudspeth also said that was the last number he had heard as well.

Actually neither Hud nor the bowl director Cicero knew. They both talked about hearing things, no specific number, while Buckley said his numbers came from the university.

Not to worry we will sell every thicket allocated to us, 14k, plus the blanks 8k to be printed at UL.
Heard that WKU will be serving sheep sandwiches on the bus......screw them and chew them....just kidding still upset about calling our basketball champs thugs.... we need a s Belt quadfecta...

I read somewhere that by this past Friday, we had sold around 2000. I ordered 5 on Saturday through the school, so we're right around 2005 now. I've been lookin at tickets through Ticketmaster, Stubhub, TicketCity and they haven't had but a few or none for sale, so if fans are buying they're goin through the ECU website. Weatherby hopes to get at least 5000 to the game. I hope we get at least that or more, especially since we missed a bowl last year. We're drivin down a day earlier and leaving the day after. It falls on a weekend with plenty of time to get home before Christmas Eve, so there's few reasons why fans can't make it IMHO. I think the "8000" may have been the initial allotment.

Ok I guess this is where it gets a little trickey---When they called me today to pick my tickets up Monday the guy said that we were at 18-20K----The money is to be made by how many and how much per ticket we can keep---We should pocket a million however!!!
ULM is reporting as of 12/9 that they have sold about 7500 tickets
WKU is over 2k from what I'm hearing but most expect that number to be 5-7k by game day. It's one of the hardest bowls to travel to and I will be very happy with those numbers

You are right. tough bowl to sell tickets to and I hope you reach those numbers.....by the way interesting and probably good hire at coach. Just expect lots of jokes about other things.

This is referencing your post. It should also be noted this is just ticket sales through the university ticket office, not through the ticketmaster or Superdome outlets.

The count of tickets sold for the New Orleans Bowl through the Univeristy of Louisiana ticket office currently stands at more than 18,000, surpassing 2011's total, Ragin' Cajuns Sports Information Director Brian McCann said Monday.

Come on ULM its your first bowl game and couldn't be any closer. Got to have 15-20k at least.

Lets not jump on them.

ULL's ticket sells are completely unprecedented. I wouldn't be suprised if 18k is a record for all FBS schools. Anybody know what the record # is for "in-house" ticket sales?

If you look at the in-house ticket sales from every SBC bowl team going back to NT in the NOB 10 years ago, you will see that 8k in-house tickets sold is a good number.
