2007: Appalachian St beat Michigan 34-32
*Michigan was ranked at the time and some were predicting a possible national c-ship

2005: TCU beat Oklahoma 17-10
*Oklahoma was ranked #7 at the time

1989: Southern Miss beat Florida St 30-26
*FSU finished 10-2, while Southern Miss led by Brett Favre went 5-6

1986: Miami, OH beat LSU 21-12
*LSU was ranked #8 at the time and lost to a MAC team in Baton Rouge!

1999: Louisiana Tech beat Alabama 29-28
*Alabama was ranked #20

2008: Utah beat Alabama 31-17
*BCS bowl buster!

2010: James Madison beat Virginia Tech 21-16
*V Tech went on to play in the Orange Bowl.

As far as I'm concerned, the NIU vs Florida St game has NOTHING in common with these games. The Orange Bowl features the #15 vs #12 team in the nation. EOD. Go Huskies!

You are right...there is actually a larger talent gap between NIU and FSU
Certainly seems like reasonable analysis from Pikap.

That's why it's good this is a TEAM game. By the way, do you think the gap between NIU and Georgia Tech is very large?

Across the board, overall roster talent, there is a good size gap, yes. GT has BCS conference talent and plays a BCS conference schedule. Talent alone doesn't win football games.

Do you really think that based on FSU's second half that the game was close because FSU is not that good?

You do realize that FSU and GT play in the ACC don't you:

Conference Power Rankings

Maybe if you beat us you can catch the Big East.

If you didn't win by much, you didn't win by much. How many times have we heard that we "only" beat Kansas by 7? We can play that game too.

I have not mentioned any games that NIU has played in, and I don't watch ESPN3 much so that could be the reason.

I was just responding to comments regarding the FSU-GT game.
If you think there's a bigger talent difference between NIU and FSU than there was between Appalachian State and Michigan, well I just don't know what to tell you.

Hey now if we play on weekdays they put us on TV! Once in awhile they'll even put us on TV on a Saturday if we play them.
He's certainly not afraid of showing his ignorance, I'll give him that.
Ignorance would be walking into this thread and trying to compare football pedigrees...

I mean that is true ignorance...correct?
If the ACC is good their teams would have the balls to play us a few OOC games at Huskie Stadium. Although the last 4 AQ teams that played us there lost.
Dude, you're totally missing out with games on ESPN3... Just saying. They're very convenient. Don't hate on the Tres!
