The projections for the Big East were that Boise State and hopefully BYU would actually be driving the new TV deal combined with Louisville and Rutgers (who are now gone), so it's not a foregone conclusion that the Big East would make more than a 16-team MWC as constituted above. I don't think BYU really wants to give up independence or that Houston and SMU would find all-sports membership in the MWC more attractive than the Big East, but a LOT crazier stuff that I would have given a lot lower chance of occurring than this MWC-16 proposal has already happened in conference realignment. Louisville is in ACC and Rutgers is in the Big Ten, for Pete's sake! The OP's scenario would be a surprise to me, but a milder one on the relative scale.

If the Nbe tv contract was anything approaching being good, that news would have been leaked by now. And if the Nbe tv contract was anthing approaching being good, there would not be these ongoing discussions among MWC, SDSU, Boise, Tulsa, Houston, and SMU.

Just how low is the Nbe contract? Probably low enough for BSU and SDSU to ask themselves if the added travel for football and the destruction of their basketball and olympic sports is worth it?

The Nbe is low enough that evidently Tulsa U officials have not accepted the football only invite.

Did Pac 12 contract get leaked before it was signed? No.

Is there any proof that those schools are talking with the MWC??? other than some message board idiot?

Is there proof that the Big East offered Tulsa invite? once again, other than some message board idiot?

I don't really think there is proof of much of anything. Speculators calling other speculators idiots only sets oneself up to look like a fool in hindsight. Right? Probably not I realize. As there is always some excuse that gives us an out. Right?

I wasn't calling Tallgrass an idiot, I was talking about the points that he was making- that came from other message boards....

WTF!! Please take this to PM as it has nothing to do with this thread.

No no keep it going. It is a slow workday at the office...lol.

03-lmfao What the hell is in the water in Boise, ID???? Bravo! This is MUCH better than the OP.

Must be all the bandwagon fans they have up there.

So now you are gonna insult all of the Boise State fans. You really need to grow up. Boise has high schools that get more fans than Wyoming. You really have no room to talk about fan support.

FWIW... feel free to call TG whatever you want to call him.

I just don't think anyone speculating on your two posed questions necessarily has to be an idiot. We're all speculating, right?

my point though is that it could just be some message board clown who wants nothing to do with the BE. It's not rooted in reality at all. There's been nothing in the media to indicate that the BE invited Tulsa at all..... Or that those schools are talking with the MWC.

Fair enough. Don't disagree. I just tend to think 75% of what is discussed on here has no media indication. By the time the media indicates it (at least the media people would believe, The Dude is not media), its a done deal, not speculation anymore. Lets be honest, and I am as guilty of this as everyone, the level of idiocy attributed to speculation is directly correlated to how much one would like the speculation to happen.

Yep that is exactly what I said. Good reading comprehension.
