That's not that unusual for athletic departments. ETSU is far from alone with this policy.
I have a very difficult time believing that nobody has ever failed two drug tests at ETSU since 2003. If that's the case, they aren't testing enough or know better than to test certain athletes on campus a year or so after.
It's cute that they had the leprechaun that rests on Dave's shoulder write that piece, maybe next time the JC Press will actually let the grown folk do the story and let little Joe stick to covering the amateur golf tournaments he plays in.
Was Jacolby Davis' incident swept under the rug too?

I dont' like what I'm seeing.

open your eyes faithful.

its not pretty.
My eyes have never been closed, I have just chosen to focus on my passion for college basketball--on this forum. These incidents, however, are affecting my desire to come on here and discuss just basketball.

not intended as a swipe at you faithful. more of a general comment for those that follow the program. my apologies.
I appreciate the clarification.
It'll be great when it gets back to basketball, but this mess has opened a whole other can of worms. I mean what REALLY happened with Daequan Twilley? Davis? Seth Coy's DUI/underage P.I.? (I know he's dead, and it's not meant to disrespect him in anyway, but he broke a law that the average student would've gotten hammered on legally). Tommy's domestic assault charges, CP's actions at the now closed PR's with the basketball manager (Pigram needed a boatpaddle to his face or perhaps hot food thrown at him, too). The list of things that went unpunished goes on and on, and I'm not on some ivory tower here, but I also wasn't recieving a free education and all I had to do was represent the university in an appropriate manner, play basketball and go to class.
Alot of things have been overlooked, with the "boys will be boys" mentality, and these guys don't respect him. They know they can fail drug tests and do other stupid things and they'll get suspended indefinitely during the summer (Tommy Hubbard), or suspended for a couple of games (Sheldon) or allowed to withdraw in good standing and transfer to another school (JC Ward).
I don't know that the off court stuff will end until there's a change in coaching.
Murry portrays himself to be Mr. Clean....but his behavior betrays him and now the abundant revelations that his players have seen the example and have reflected the coach. I've seen enough to ask the president to pull the trigger. New blood please. Integrity would be nice...along with a sweet 16 appearance! What is Hanners doing now days?
A lot of things have gone on around this basketball program, only a few have made the light of day.

This is the truth. It's not just Bartow. He has had the full support and participation of Mullins. Stanton never paid attention. Noland appears to be paying attention and taking the power away from Bartow/Mullins. That's a good thing.

Am sure Mullins has been trying to ride the coattails of Bartow over these years hoping that somehow he could look more competent as a result, until recently. Dr. Noland could go ahead and close the deal here and place his people in charge of athletics.
Down here in Knoxville at the Univ of Tn..they had the same drug policy in their athletic dept for years..3 failed tests and you're out.. but they were losing so many of their best players they changed it to 4 times .. they got so much bad publicity that now they say they have gone back to the 3 and out,,,,,that seems to be pretty much the norm across the country.
