I decided to stay quiet on this board until I saw the official announcement...all I can say is I'm am stunned, happy and excited for NIU!!!

On behalf of NIU, I have to say that this selection would have been impossible without the outstanding OOC performance that not only the MAC had this year but Non AQ's as a whole had.
When you are outspent as the Non AQ's are, to have 5 teams finish in the top 25 is a miracle. Should have been 6, LaTech got screwed; Michigan beats 1 team with a winning record and they finish #18, Texas beats 2 7-5 teams and gets 23 while UCLA beats 3 7-5 teams and a Nebraska team that gets 70 hung on them in a conference title game and gets 16.
Two conferences that are highly disrespected (MAC) and a conference that is going out with a bang (WAC) have as many top 25 ranked teams as the ACC and more than the Big East.

I believe what really chapped his a$$ was his undefeated Buckeyes sitting at home while 4 Ohio MAC teams bowl and NIU BCS Bowls. Pompous, petulant, & self entitled= The Ohio State University.

FSU lost to NC State, who lost to Virginia, who lost to Maryland, who lost to UConn, who lost to Western Michigan, who lost to...you guessed it...Northern Illinois! Done.
This is an historic day for the MAC and Northern Illinois. What a year for the MAC. Sweet sixteen, College World Series and BCS. That is the trifecta in men's sports and the MAC hit it in 2012. 18 million in the coffers of MAC of MAC schools.
