Happy for them and will definitely be cheering for them. Forgive me if I am overlooking something obvious but what is the difference between them and Houston last year? Is it just the conference champions thing? Houston was ranked around 17th at this point last year correct?

NIU finished 16 or higher in final BCS - and ahead of at least one of the AQ BCS rankings conference leaders (NIU at #16 ahead of highest rated Big East and probably Big Ten teams).

Probably bashing them because Marshall left for more money... there were a lot of good rivalries between Marshall and almost the entire MAC.

Yes, Houston was not a conference champion and it did not matter if they were top 16 or not. I'm so upset at USM for losing to UAB late in the year because I was hoping at least if we lost in the title game, the winner would go to the BCS.

Wow, i can't believe their coach left before finding out if they got the game. What an idiot.

While I'm not sure they have chance I'm pretty sure FSU thinks that too which could make it game.

Houston didn't win their conference so they didn't deserve it. Of course the BCS Championship has allowed teams who didn't win their division play for the so called "national championship"

I hate it when that happens. NIU hits the bowl equivalent of the jackpot, and they will have to play it without their coach. And if he takes his coaches with him, they will have God only knows who calling the plays.

I can play the question game too! What does NIU going to a BCS game in 2012 under current BCS rules have anything to do with Marshall being in the MAC from 1997-2004?

Everybody knows the answer is 0. Has everything to do with CUSA being a sorry ass football conference, now lower than the MAC!
